vredestein ultrac sessanta

Featured Replies

I really need some decent tyres on my car as i currently run some horrific cheapo's that came with the alloys and ive had some close slippery moments to say the least lol. Going round my local tyre places , they highly rate the vredestein ultra sessanta's, just wondering does any fellow Briskodian have a review on how these perform?

Cheers, Dan

I have these, but on a Z4. Can't fault them, wet or dry.

Good feed back, good wear and very good grip including a dozen or so Ring laps and a Nurburgring GP circuit session. No complaints!

I'll be sticking with them come replacement time.

Cheers dude  i've never heard of them untill today so i thought i best get some research/reviews sorted lol

Were VERY VERY good on the mongrel but a set only lasted about 5,000 miles. :( I can get more than double that out of a set of T1R toyos! In short, great tyre, shocking wear rate (in my experience) Economically they are nowhere near twice as good as T1R just a "bit better" but last way less so its a no brainer for me to continue to use T1R.

The local garages were saying that the vredesteins lasted longer than the toyo's , depends on the car and the way its driven maybe?

I drove mine no differently. They just seemed to wear out quicker. No idea why though. Maybe I got too confident in how much grip they actually had.

Devon, jeez that is shocking wear and very surprising. Mine have done around 8-10k miles and still plenty of life left.

the owner of the 1 garage had a set on his merc for near 25k miles and they still had a little left to go on them!

My experience of the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's is that they are fault proof.

I had no issues whatsoever and they are ultra grippy.

I have friends who run them on E46 M3's...such is the grip they offer! Would always recommend Vredestein's and Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 Asymm's

On another note, I have today found out that an ultra highly rated tyre is Fulda Assuro?

Never heard of it before :S

As from Today My Octavia Vrs PD TDi is booted with these :-

205/55/16 Kleber

I've put over 10K on a set of Ultrac Sessantas so far ( taken them off now and fitted my winter wheels and tyres), they have still got 6mm+ on them so a big thumbs up for wear and they are brilliant in the wet and the dry, slightly noisier than the Contisport 3's I originally had on but very grippy even on a remapped CR170VRS pushing out over 450Nm of torque!!

I used Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas for 2 years on my Octavia vRS TDI to very good effect.

Car was initially shod with Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 and I'd say the dry grip & feel of the Vreds was just as good but the Wet grip was noticeably better. I only got 2/3rd the mileage out of the Vreds compared to the Michelins but then they were 2/3rd the price; so on a ££ per mile basis they cost the same as Michelins.

Got c. 18,000 mile from my front set of Vreds with generally hard/sporty driving.

I have subsequently got a set on my 'summer wheels' on my Yeti.

The Ultrac Sessantas came 2nd in the 2007 EVO tyre test as here;- http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2007-evo-tyre-test.htm

Overall; you can do lot worse than buy Ultrac Sessantas.

Having these fitted all round tomorrow and a laser alignment done as my steering wheel is nowhere near in the middle lol. £425 gone though :( Needs to be done though due to my current cheapo tyres giving me some twitchy moments to say the least.

  • 2 months later...

having a full set fitted on my new rims tthen fitted to le vrs . getting tracking done as spending lots of pennies in one go.

The Fulda might be as good as the Good year evuivalent. I believe they are made int he same factory as good year and the new 'sports' tyre has identical tread pattttern as good year's.
