Modding problem

Featured Replies

hi all. i have a 59 plate 1.9tdi se octavia hatch from new and i am looking to do a few mods to it. i have an induction kit to put on but i cant do it! now i know you are all going to say 'its a diesel whats the point' but i am not after the bhp or i would get it mapped. i just want a bit more noise when driving around.

normally you just remove the air box and fasten the cone onto the exposed intake pipe with a jubilee clip. however on my mk 2 the intake pipe isnt circular for one and for 2 it houses the air mass meter.

my question is how do i fit this mod? has anyone done it or isnt it even possible?

i am not the most technical of people but i know that i just cant remove the mass meter as the computer will pick this up. i cant just saw through the intake pipe between the mass meter and the box as the pipe isnt circular there.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh - its driving me mad, please help!

i am in manchester if anyone is close and knows what they are doing. i will supply lunch if you want to help me out!!

There are pics of one fitted to a pd170 if you search for a k and n

You want to make a diesel louder, changing to an induction kit will only result in the diesel engine sounding even more tractor like and make little difference to what you here driving along. To improve the sound and get more noise, the best thing is to change the exhaust and deal with the outlet rather than inlet.

WFT?

Why would you want to make more noise and scerw up the indution on your car.

Dont do it there is just no point why do you want more noise on the induction as it sound relly rubish on a diesel.imo

If you want more noise just take the air filter out and drill some big holes in the housing.

It wont do the car any good and may cause damage but it will make more noise.

To add the induction kit its a case of remove the box and clip it on ive one fitted to my 1.9tdi doesnt make it sound like a tractor most modern diesels dont with exhaust or intake mods. The induction kit will let you hear the turbo spool up and dump when you change gear well worth doing.
