Wayne, are you sure yours is a Tfsi, I thought all FL's were tsi and you have the same code as my tsi?

Actually the code is CCZ0 (that's a zero).

The vechicle Variant is AACCZAX01.

Right i have been digging :)

So far i have only found Octavia vRS petrol TSI's to have the ccza engine which is basically 'supposed to be' a detuned Golf GTI mk6 TSI engine which has the engine code cczb. Most seem to agree that the Octy puts out the 211bhp and this was just done a marketing so it wasnt quite as much of a rival to the GTI.

This link explains it well:

http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/forums/f149/octavia-non-fl-vs-fl-engine-specs-64215.html

The TSI engine codes are as follows (didnt include the FSI data):

147 kilowatts (200 PS; 197 bhp) @ 5,100-6,000 rpm; 280 newton metres (207 ft·lbf) @ 1,800-5,000 rpm — CCTA/CBFA: 2009 VW Golf Mk5 GTI (North American markets only), VW Jetta MKV, VW Passat B6, VW CC, Audi A3 (8P)

155 kilowatts (211 PS; 208 bhp) @ 5,300-6,200 rpm; 280 newton metres (207 ft·lbf) @ 1,700-5,200 rpm — CCZA, CAWB: VW Golf Mk6 GTI, VW Scirocco, VW Passat B6, VW CC, Skoda Octavia vRS

The mk5 golf FSI has the engine code ccta which the downpipe is the same as the ccza (TSI). The confusion seems to come from the CBFA engine which was made for the North American market which has an extra o2 sensor and slighty different flange fitting (when you google downpipes a lot of the forums are US and discuss this).

Image explains the different o2 sensor locations (BPY is engine code for North USA in Europe its AXX and BWA)

Thread below talks about the difference between the AXX and BWA FSI engines (nothing concrete to say exact differences). They do however talk about them having differences between the manifolds among other things which might explain why Ben at Shark found that a TFSI downpipe wouldnt fit a TSI (due to it being off the early AXX golf mk5 gti) as the Octavia never appears to have had the AXX engine!

http://www.carforums.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=182

Now i know this is a bit of a mind twisting thread, but a really difficult thread to write up due to all the engine codes etc. but i hope it makes sense to some people at least and as far as i can work out in Laymans terms is that all petrol vRS use the same downpipe whether its an FSI or a TSI. You can fit a Golf gti TSI/FSI downpipe (as long as the downpipe is not off (or designed to fit) and early mk5 Golf GTI FSI with engine code AXX). Aint checked on others but presume the same for Leon Cupra's and A3's aswell.

Please dont quote me on this as its just what i have found.

yea its CCZA mate

yea its CCZA mate

How do you work that out then?

Bit confused here!

The sales receipt from Skoda describes the car as;

HBK 2.0TFSI.

I think Skoda continue to advertise it as a TFSI, despite the fact that they have been the TSI for the best part of 3 years. If you have a facelift it will have a TSI. Just have a look at it, it's clearly very different to the TFSI.

Ill let you know very soon, I have a Milltek DP from a Mk5 GTI that Im going to be fitting to my TSI in January!

Wos the TFSI then?

TFSI is the engine in pre FL Octys. Different turbo, uses cam belt (not chain), and different air intake.

The later TSI engine (CCZA) is also more receptive to tuning :)

Just got back from my local Longlife dealer, father and son run team with 44 years experience, both were extremely helpful and professional and, as you would expect, certainly seemed to know their stuff. Apparently they are suppliers to Jeff at Pipeworx.

A full tbe system, custom built on the car over 1.25 days would be £825 + VAT. They are waiting on some detailed spec info before quoting on the down pipe and sports cat section only but are expecting it to be around £450 + VAT, again custom built and fitted.

Overall was extremely impressed so think that I will be going with them, just got to decide whether to go with front section only or a full system.

I understood, from their website, that they don't do downpipes etc ,,,,

Maybe they do now then.

They will do anything you need as a totally custom build.

You're welcome. ;)

Told you they were good!

No probs and sorry only just seen your replies and question. It states ccza in your variant code mate.

Needed some inspiration to get some research done myself as been thinking about a downpipe ready for straight to stage 2 map :).

Bl00dy ell, how'd I miss that!

Yep will let ya know in this thread when done, cant see why it wont fit TBH, all the VW TSI guys have no problems fitting TFSI downpipes to theirs.

I'd like to know people's opinions on the different exhaust companies as miltek prices seem very high. I'm tempted to go for an exhaust upgrade.

Nicky Boy

strange idea when in an earlier thread you did not want to spend money on new tyres (which are vital to the safe running of a car and therefore those in and around it)but now you are thinking about upgrading the exhaust. For what? Vanity?

Or are you just a dreamer?

If you read further up you donk I said until I get the next car. Idiot. My point is still valid, they are expensive. My lack of knowledge on tyres was the issue and when to spend the money on them and if it was worth it. Upgrading exhaust will temporarily quench my thirst for power until the RS4/stage 1 S4 3.0T arrives. Is this ok with you? See two points below.

I'd be very interested to see what they say. I'm going to upgrade car next year but until then I'd like more power.

See here.

And power wise, noise wise these pipewerx and as good as the miltek? I didn't get the sales advise I was promised from Charlie at miltek so out of principle don't want to go with them so pipewerx would be an option for me.

See here

Right then ,,,, while you two bicker ,,,, back to roots!

Just been to the Longlife dealership in Ashford.

Custom built full exhaust, this breaks down as 3" downpipe + 200 cell cat 500 squids.

The Cat back part with polished tailpipes (identical to OEM) is 300 of ya queens squids.

£800 (+ the vodka and Tonic) for a custom built S/S system with lifetime warranty.

Now that ain't bad at all.

Miltek ,,, your taking the hit & miss!

Thanks for the heads-up Rydal0.
