Has stopped raining in Carlisle. Patchy cloud with signs of blue sky. Not much wind and looking promising.

Cracking weekend as ever :) - especially the massively speedy run up kirkstone pass lol!

Pics please!!!!

Il be defo up for the next one

Can I say a big thanks to Ian for organising a great weekend.  I enjoyed the Ice cream and the Hartside pass on Saturday, shame about the low cloud near the top though. I was surprised how good the weather turned out from the weather reports I read.

It would have been nice to have complete the whole run today, but time was getting on and didn't want to be too late home. It was still enjoyable anyway.

Brilliant weekend! Will DEFINITELY be coming to the next one! :D and nice to meet some new people and put faces to names :)

Only problem I had was with whoever owns the 04 plate silver vRS, who nearly rammed me off the road on one of the dual carriageways after getting right up my *rse and causing me to slam on my brakes... May I remind you my 9 year old nephew was sat in the passenger seat, and I was actually going to continue to the first stop so I could say bye to everyone before leaving, but your idiocy changed my mind (and I probably wouldn't have been able to bite my tongue!) and I turned off early!!! Yes I may have been slower than Ian and Dave in front of me, but you could have at least given me chance to pull over! *RANT OVER*

But apart from that, was all good :)

Was a good weekend. Will defo do another run. Nice to meet everyone. Thx again for organising this weekend. Will post pics soon.

WOW your such a drama queen. Unfortunatelyfor you, I was recorded that safe overtake manoeuvre on that DUAL carriageway your talking about. Using your 9 year old nephew as extra fuel for your over reacted statement also tut tut. Yet you was at the front trying to race/keep up. I would be at the back off the line, taking it easy & NOT at the front racing if I had my nephew with me.

Give you a chance to pull over you say? Its a DUAL carriage way! Maybe read up on how they work sometime or look up what dual means. Saying I was up your arse is YET another over the top statement. Your talking about a few seconds just as I was about to over take on a two lane dual carriageway & you was using both lanes at one point forcing me to go behind you.

Anyone who watches the vid can clearly see that I was going a lot faster then you on the over take. Yes I cut the corner but the speed I over took you..... well no chance you was ANYWHERE near my car after I over took you causing you to slam on your breaks so stop being so dramatic. I guess your the nervous type off driver who flaps in most situations. Its a shame you did not attack me face to face at the first stop rather then on here. Oh well maybe next year.

You can hear me saying don't be scared on the vid lol .

Shame your camera doesn't record speeds, I hate to think what speed you were going

Maybe you ought to save it for a track day

Remember it was a dual carriageway but I may have gone over the limit a tad. Yeah my phone is not really any good for decent footage & speedo on the vid would have been good idea

I think you'll find from 1 minute on it's single, and that looked WAY over 60 to me

Yes it does look like it

have shown this video to a advanced driving person and he said that both cars were in the wrong. the camera car was a bit too close at times but also the ford shouldnt have been in both lanes as should have realised car behind was going faster and would be overtaking.

Thats a nice, none biased post MissPiggy. Thanks. I will agree with you on that also.

I did not want to make an issue out off what Jayneyyy wrote. I just wanted to defend my self.

I had a great weekend, was fun. I'm looking forward to the next run up there. No one got hurt, all cars survived intact & we all got home safe. That's a result.

Someone ditch there car, that pretty funny lmo but no damage done so can laugh about it now. A few heavy people rocking his car soon got that out the ditch.

Weather was a bit pants on the first night but got better over weekend. Love the views up there. I have many pics & vids. Will post them as soon as ive edited the mobile phone, box view

Says it all really......unbelievable

Each to their own, but I will never go on a 'run' if there is a chance of people being out with this mentality

I do think that to be fair in that situation... All it required was 10 seconds more patience to allow Jayneyyy to pull in cleanly - it was pretty clear she was aiming to pass the car on the inside of her, and then she went back into the left-hand lane - and you did pass her pretty much over a hump and on a corner. It's not the nicest place in the world to see someone passing you at a fair way over 60. Did you actually get some air there? Did that panic her perhaps?

On a separate note, unless there was something behind you at the time you dived (as it looked) back into the left-hand lane, knowing you wanted to overtake her - there wasn't any particular need to go into that lane to then weave back out to overtake her on the aforementioned corner and hump.

All i'm doing is going on the footage i've just seen - but on that basis you weren't allowing appropriate space between you and the car in front (which is dangerous - what if she did have to brake? You and she would have been toast), you overtook on a hump and a corner, and you were technically weaving between lanes.

I'll say this time and again - it's all well and good owning a reasonable performance car but quite a lot of people need to learn that owning said performance car doesn't absolve you from having to drive well. There's only so many times all those horses and torques under the bonnet will save you from a serious accident.

I'd not particularly say Jayneyyy here is in the wrong - apart from possibly a slight lack of lane discipline at odd moments - her wheels did stray over the line now and again. Her pass however was ok - apart from maybe diving in early in front of the car she overtook... But i'm guessing that was done because you were pretty close and she wanted to get out of your way.

As Brimma said - save that kind of driving for the track.

I think you have connected me saying no one got hurt, all cars intact & everyone home to my other posts I have made. It was a general comment & nothing to do with a reckless mentality, assuming that's what you meant.

Anything can happen on them tights roads. some really steep drops in parts. care & attention is necessary..There is pass where the tip off the road is so steep that lowered cars can be damaged on the tip although we did not go on that pass this year. I hear someone lost a sump on the tip last year. That is why I'm glad we all made it home safe & car intact!

Hey All,

Echoing the posts of a couple of others; thanks again to Ian for organising a great weekend, the campsite/ field was spot on and the driving routes were superb. Very much enjoyed the whole thing, plus it was nice to see people I've met before and meet those I haven't. Some lovely cars and nice people to boot.

I must admit I saw a number of overtakes etc that I couldn't quite believe at some points, but on the whole it was a very civilised affair. I'm sure we've all got a little carried away at some points whilst making progress, but overtaking on blind summits and undertaking on the motorway isn't for me I'm afraid.

Anyway, it sounds like everyone had a good time overall bar a hiccup or two.

Ian, hope the Octy is sorted soon.

Thanks All.

Having driven that exact road the weekend before, i must say i was glad it was quiet at the time as a few of those blind humps, bends and patchy tarmac did make me brake quite a few times as i just didn't know what might be on the other side of said humps.

If i did need to overtake, i did it at a speed not much more than the car i was overtaking until i could actually see the road clearly ahead, then i would up my speed a little just to get past cleanly.

Not a good road to overtake on in places, especially at high speeds but lane discipline is also needed if someone is travelling faster than you.

I moved in to the left lane as it was safe to do so. She was far enough distance to do so safely & with out cutting her up. Even if she did not break on the corner its no way possible for to hit me as long as i don't also break sharp which off course i did not do.
