Fabia vRS. Induction kit or Panel Filter?

Featured Replies

Howdy!

I currently have a Furby vrs running a Revo map, Forge FMIC and PD160 intake. It already has a green panel filter but I've been offerred a generic green induction kit at a good price.

Is this a worth while swap considering my current set up?

Thankie!

OEM air filter

Neither - just put a new OEM filter in if yours is dirty.

Agree with the rest or risk turbo damage.

Stick to the panel Filter. I don't know if an induction kit would give you any more performance (probably not). It will give you a little more induction noise though.

Having said that, from what I've seen happen to other Green panel filters I'd swap it for a different make (search for PastyBoys Green one).

green stuff is a no no really, can clog your maf up and cause more harm than good, stick with an OEM panel filter and all will be fine

Worth it to sell on, maybe, worth it to fit, nope, IMO.

A new OEM panel filter.

No need for anything else unless you're switching the turbo for something hybrid or bigger, also IMO.

Agree nothing wrong with the standard filter

As said, stick with the standard paper filter.

It's good for 240+ bhp

OEM and save some money! :p if it's a good price thou buy it and flog it on :)

If you do stick with the panel filter then:

Of course there is K&N filters, which I've never seen anyone have any problems with and is what I have in my car. :D

Thanks boys and girls! Advice taken!

Ive just bought a new OEM air and pollen filter as im sure my green panel filter has reached the end of its life. Now then, i thought the benefit of a non OEM filter was an increased surface area, more surface area more air more power, roughly speaking. Im therefore suprised the K&N filters arent more widely used. I know they might suffer with heat being so close to the engine but those heat sheilds help that. Whats the general opinion of these, a gimmick with a bit of intake noise which people mistake for power?
