New member, 3rd fabia owned

Featured Replies

Hey all

Im the new owner of a 2000 fabia 1.4 mpi. My third fabia 2000 i have owned out of my 8 cars. (pre2001 saves big on tax!)

£725 81k on the clock, ocean blue, comfort, alloys, 6 months mot. Picked 'Sadie' up on sunday; day after my 21st.

Condition is very dirty, cd changer in the boot, stone chips everywhere, 1 spare replaces alloy, new front brakes, interior dirty but not ripped or scratched and smoked in. For the price im not complaining.

Currently working on today and tomorrow:

Removing all door cards

removing all seats

foam cleaning all the above

foam cleaning the roof

foam cleaning basically all fabric

antibacterial wiping all dash and plastic panels

ripping out all speakers and upgrading to MTX audio i have in my other car (golf mk4)

rip out the head unit and fit my dvd single din

strip and clean windows.

use waterproof damp proof sealant on the rear doors to prevent interior leakage

oil flush, oil and filter

air filter replacement,

coolant flush and replacement

replace squeaky engine mount

Future plans:

currently respraying 16" bbs montreal 2 alloys i was going to use on the golf but now fitting new tyres and fitting them.

stripping and cleaning the drums and readjusting the automatic tensioner to tighten handbrake before tightening cables/possibly replace

sort out the scratches and paint work then polish and treat.

paint rear drums and front callipers with calliper silver paint to tidy up

lower the suspension by 35mm to compensate for bigger alloys

remove bumpers and refit as they are drooping as my other 2 did

HID conversion

interior ice white conversion

Anyone else have any ideas??

Total cost of project will be around 1k including car

total hours work approx. 30

Every minuite of enjoyment is priceless

Finished my golf did an engine refurb, wheels, tints, the works but it was just not as well build as the fabia i owned before.

Found these treat for cheap and saw my opportunity.

Unfortunately using an overhead valve is a big drop in power compared to my previous twin overhead cam in the golf but its worth it, already locked the brakes up lacking the abs!
