Featured Replies

York autobodyshop are very good and cheap aswell. It's on the road from Tang Hall to monks cross near to wilco Motorsave I think it's called malton road.

You know, I've driven past them like a million times and never once noticed that place, I'll give em a try thanks. Also Chris, if you live in York please tell me your Mk1 isn't silver as well :)

Trevor,

Really nice looking car, the more I browse these forums the more I want to do to my car, though I think you've set the benchmark to high for me, everything I do to my car has to be non visual, so the Mrs doesn't know ;) I enjoy watching though, and maybe one day when your not looking I will swap mine for yours.

What I really don't understand, is how I've never seen your silver VRS's cruising York's streets especially when it's such a small place, if you spot me, mine has a beautiful bit of cracked paint on the bumper where some scum bag bumped me and didn't leave any details. Don't suppose you know any cheap but good resprayers in York? cheapest I've had so far was Spectrum for £240.

Cheers

I'm always out and about I live haxby side of York, have seen a few black mk 1s about but no silver yet, I drive 8 hours a day around York so see a few lol , the body'shop I used was from back home in Essex, haven't had any experiences of any in York yet to recommend anywhere, I'll keep an eye out for you :)

Yeah I'll either be the guy with the cracked paint bumper or the very shiny looking bumper, depending on when I get it fixed. Its hard to part with £200 for a paint job when it doesn't make the car any faster :)

One of the girls from work had her freelander fixed there, was an awkward dent near the rear side window, really good repair couldn't see anything what so ever.

All these Vrs's in York and we miss each other! I usually try and wave/flash but rarely get owt in return so I've given up, mines the black one with briskoda stickers back and front, a pirate flag on the Ariel, is usually mucky with dirty wheels lol

Sent from my Galaxy S2 not a Crapple!

this is smart!! love that lip spoiler.

A friend had his honda civic painted there, they did a very good job for a very good price,id use them.

There should be an unwritten rule VRS's should be flashing or something back!

I got a quote today, £180, that's much more like it. Have provisionally booked her in, just need clearance from the missus!

Just an update RE York resprays, my cars in with DM Keith in leeds for some warranty paint work (my last chance before it's 10 year birthday next year) And when they booked it in I told him my best price and they said they'd price match it. So excited I got him to chuck in a new front Skoda badge to make it look even more shiny!

i removed the sai ages ago so theres already more room then normal.

Guy on eBay sells them as a kit specifically for the bypass, search n249 bypass/delete and it comes up, slightly more expensive then doing yourself, but I felt lazy lol

What offset are the wheels and did you need spacers to fit the brakes?

Thanks Andy
