DLRs can't be on with dipped lights ;)

Hehe, thats actually my side lights that are multi SMD's :giggle: look bright but I think its just my camera on the phone that makes them look brighter. But as I understand it anyway :S as long as the drl's dim (which they do, with a relay/control box)so as not to blind others with scattered light when side or dipped beam is on its legal as they are quite soft when dipped beam on really :smirk: and also dim on the side that an indicator is flashing on so as to allow them to be seen too. But mine are set low enough and arn't as bright as OEM ones anyway so not likely to miss the indicators.

They look a little too far apart for my liking....

Could you have sunk them back a little further into the holes so they were not so readily visible when turned off?

i think they look out of place as they poke out to far.

I don't think they are powerful enough to be considered Daytime lights and replace the low beam as visibility.

And you should mount them more inside the grill.

I have those

Correct  As long as they DRL`s reduce in brightness once the side lights/ head lights are switched on they are legal for night time driving. If the DRL`s do not reduce their brightness when sidelights/headlights being on at night well, expect to see some more LED`s (Blue Colour) Flashing in your rear view mirror!!!!! And be visiting the local MOT station within 14 days!!

On another note did you mount these on their actual brackets that came on the light? When I offered mine up to the car with brackets in place I personally thought mine protruded from the bumper too far. So off came the brackets and out came the silicone!! now they sit as flush as your going to get....

I dont think they look to far apart, you don`t want on-coming traffic thinking your in a Robin-Reliant do you. Also I find it a little weird when people put them toward the grills as it does not line up with the headlights. However whoever designed the DS3 needs to be shoot at dawn those DRL`s make me feel sick every time one passes they remind me of a walrus!!!

all points taken on board chaps, em not sure if its the angle ive taken them at but they are actually quite sunken into the side grilles as I had to cut the backs off the grilles to get them where I wanted and are as far back as they will go without making new brackets and not visible from above when looking down on them. The lights themselves are curved and more or less follow the curve of the bumper, slightly flush but more sunken.

As for brightness yes, I don't think they are as bright as they should be but possibly either down to my wiring :S or the supplied wire itself which the core is the thinest i've came across in along time but just asumed it is due to the low consumption of LEDs' so dosen't need a large core wire?

Apart from that I'm happy with them and there position I think but like to get other points of view which doesn't have to blow sunshine up my ass, if it looks sh173 just tell it like it is boys :D

Where did you get the multi SMD side light bulbs from m8?

Skinner33 - No not yet mate just connected them to the fog lights which gives me ultimate control over them or just let the box do the work. but I think I'll search again for the live feed when I have time but looks like it will be the fan control module or the ecu but dont really want to mess around with the ecu.
