All of the above seem correct plus rear parking sensors

it a shame to see that there isnt many originals left

yours is de stickerd and running non standard wheels the 2 main things that made it the wrc edition lol

didnt they have airbags in the seats too, plus xenon, plus seat heating (perhaps)

i wouldnt have one with stickers, to lairy for me!

They look crap with graphics and I only bought it because it was nicer than the other vrs's I looked at. Plus I do have the oem white spiders. I couldn't really care about the wrc edition rarity to be honest I just wanted a vrs

To me the Limited Edition is less desirable!

I'd feel like a total twonk driving one around with all the stickers!

But that's just me, so no offence. :)

Skoda were trying to sell them at around the same time (2002-2005) that you used to see loads of chavs driving around in mid 90's scoobies plastered in Subaru rallying decals so that probably put a lot of people off buying them with the decals. I'd pay a bit more for the benefit of having the xenons, seats etc. but would rather a plain white one than a stickered one.

Post 20 :dull:

Let's all jump back 36 years to the ford mk 2 escort era. I'm talking about the rs1800 only 109 produced mostly in diamond white apart from two red ones. Try finding one now and if you could it would be for a serious amount of money ! So my advice is if you have a WRC and don't have to sell it just keep it and watch its value climb.

Absolutely no way a Skoda will be thought of in the same way as a classic Ford though.

It'll never happen, there are millions of 'rare' special editions/limited models all scrapped and long forgotten. The Octavia WRC is worth the same as any other VRS, less even, as white is a bad colour and the stickers are naff. There's lots of reasons why classic cars become desirable, pedigree - manufacture and motor-sport success, exceptional uprated kit/performance, plastered all over the mags. and boys grew up dreaming of owning one, etc. etc. The WRC has none of them, and never will. It was just a very superficial tacky marketing ploy. A few anoraks who happen to recognise it and get carried away thinking it is special does not make a competitive potential customer base.

I agree that the mk2 Ford Escort RS 1800 had an exceptional rally pedigree being the most successful rally car period. And indeed they still compete and do well on the circuit today. However it was only a mk2 Mexico that had the 1.6 pinto engine removed and a BDA 16 valve dropped in its place. Even the log book of an rs1800 states Mexico. The point I'm trying to make is the exclusivity and anything that is produced in such low numbers will eventually be collectable and thus prices will rise.

Yes but ALL (decent) MK1 and MK2 Escorts are worth a fortune now, let alone the uber rare ones, not to mention they are STILL winning rallies today.

IMO the WRC Octavia will never be a true collectors cars, sure it will have a tiny following just like the classic Skoda's do but that will be about it.

Well If I were to own a Octy WRC I would have one with stickers as that was the point of noticable difference over any other VRS(apart from being white :giggle: )

IMO the stickers will make the future difference of value on those cars weather they do currently today or not. Agree rarity does not mean value as popularity and pedigre are the main contenders. Ford had a known pedigree and popularity well before the cars became rare.

I always wanted a MK Escort RS1600, which were basically a MK 1 Mexico also but with a 16v BDA engine in them(think they ran out of engines for a rally) and gave birth to the RS1600.

My friend owned 3 RS1800 Mk 2(git) 1 was a show car, 1 was a fast road rally car with forest arches and 1 was his daily driver. Don't you just hate these poeple.
