when i look at that image of it parked away it does make me miss driving it every day needs a bit of TLC! got a machine polisher on its way should be here tomorrow so i will get started on giving it a good clean up :) wheels badly need re doing! and a new drivers seat base just the metle bit out of any fabia will do but no body on ebay seems to like to reply to me! haha

Nice looking cars. B) Just read through the thread and you really put attention to detail.

Think I could do with a new seat base at some point too. Doesn't feel anywhere near as firm as the passenger side

so... the plan for tomorrow is to remove all the LED bulbs, interior lights, HID kit, Satnav unit and any wiring that goes with it and chrome indicator bulbs ready for the vrs to go up for sale looks like im back in the non vrs and work van from now on.

Cant wait to see whats round the corner... maybe a octavia vrs? or something in the volkswagen group Audi A4 cab? hmm who knows all i know is it will probably end up costing me a lot of money! :( haha :)

Good luck with the sale mate. You should bring the Elegance to the next prept

it will indeed be there now the wheel arch moldings are back on! needs a good clean up then its ready to go! :)

Sweet. Will be nice to see this. I like the look of the different coloured lower dash

  • Author

what do you mean lower dash?

The glove box and bit under the steering wheel. Think they're a beige colour on the elegance right?

  • Author

ohhhhh! nope its an option can have either mine is normal colour thank god i really think the beige looked awful imo! lol i had the all grey interior in mine as you will see my door cars are still original with little men on them! lol i really should change them!

ok so the Fabia vRS SE is now gone :( took a little while to stip all my bits out and back to original loads of silly things like bulbs and sub wiring but got it done in the end so all good :)

At least you can focus on the Elegance now :-)

how much did you end up getting for the SE?

  • Author

i havent sold it just yet its on the site at work waiting for a lucky person to see it and buy! :) i had planned on giving the elegance a good clean up today fully mopping it and also going to see group1rs for him to take me out in his octy! but after a rather late night last night none of this happened i suppose the elegance will have to wait till next weekend :)

  • Author

right so since i had the vRS SE i decided to give the Elegance to my mum to use since then i have hardly used it. I'm planing on soon taking it to a rolling road to find out the BHP and also giving it a good proper clean and fit the sat nav and cd changer but i find it really strange that since i put the SE for sale (not using it anymore) i have really looking forward to the day i get hold of the Elegance again! even so much that i have forgotten how it drives! lol cannot wait! i will give some updates and some new pictures! :)

Elegance is the way forward ;)

I love mine even after 2 Fabia vRS's

Similar colour too ;)

yep drove it yesterday after a very long time not driving it it felt rubbish because there was a few little problems

interior light not working.

sub not working.

heated rear screen taking ages to clear.

gearstick really stiff.

water leak causing the windows to steam up and N/S/R footwell full of water

today i fixed the interior light and sub and gearstick just needed a few quick gear changes and it free'd up :)

drove it home and it put a smile on my face all the way home! :)

now to take it off the road for a week strip out the interior dry it out and find the leak. i think the rear screen was just because either its old or covered in rubbish i will see how it goes..

Cant wait to drive it tomorrow! this is how driving should feel! a feeling i lost with the vRS i think..

The good thing about working in the motor trade.. the car is going in the showroom at work tomorrow strip bits out leave it to dry over the weekend whilst it is in there things i plan on doing

Fit sat nav and cd changer

Refit PD160 pipe

Mop the hole car

A general good clean!

See if i can fix the slight rocking in the drivers seat if not i need a new seat base out of any fabia so not hard to find :)

No doubt i will find other little bits to do while im there so will keep the updates coming

Looks like im spending my sunday at work doing my car too! haha

so the plans all changed today when i found out just how much water there was inside the car!

Sorry for the bad pictures coming up!

Stripped out the hole interior including carpets and underlay to find a small pond capable of holding s few fish haha

imageive.jpg

so it ended up like this

img04471g.jpg

had to get the wet vac out to try to suck some of the water out of the underlay worst water i think i have ever seen..

img04421u.jpg

so tomorrow i will be

putting the interior back together

fitting the sat nav and cd changer

fitting PD160 pipe

and if there is time i will try to give it a good clean

oh and found out the driver seat movement is a stupid little pin thats worn so i need a new seat i think its just not worth the hassle of stripping down

Is all that from the rear doors?

Or the front doors. TPi on the issue is to seal all four doors with the kit.

Got to re do mine since I fitted the new doors.

  • Author

I had already sealed up the front doors about a year ago i think

i water tested the hole car, its all from the N/S/R door but obviously can be from all different, mine is from a bad repair in the past and not being told that the windows was misting up when i was not using it, but as Tech1e says there is a TPI on it meaning it is a very common problem i have done loads now, the window regulators leak

Tech1e.. hate that kit but love the MS cleaner! brilliant stuff for some reason i was given a tool to put it on with (as usual for the love of god i can't remember what its called :/) but it was slightly bent so it completely messed up, sealant coming out all ways! that was about 2 years ago i think i still have it next to my bench now all one piece thanks to the bonding part of it haha

anyways its all been sorted now i will be spending all day tomorrow putting it back together and doing the stuff i was supposed to do today haha

so spent all yesterday finishing off the car getting it all put back together.

I was given a brand new cd changer wiring loom think it was for a octavia as it was long enough to go to the boot and some more.. quite nervous taking a pair of side cutters to it, then joining it all back together and then breathed a sigh of relief when this happened

img0448tg.jpg

and then i realised i had left a cd in my old unit so out it all came again.. :wall:

got all the carpet back in and it was all nice and clean thanks to my mate being there cleaning it haha

img0449rr.jpg

and then after a very long time messing around with the silly bits of plastic just not doing what i wanted them to do everything was back in

img0453ok.jpg

as you can see at this point it was getting quite dark so was time to go home

managed to get some time today after work to give it a really quick mop on the bonnet and roof needs a little more but i will do that when i get time

img0454c.jpg

every where was covered in tiny little scratches like the one here that is just about visible through the light area

img0455lon.jpg

most of them came out pretty nice :)

now thanks to pete (group1rs) for giving me the keys to his wife's (mrsgroup1rs) Fabia vRS i now want.. lowering springs, new hubs to fit 312 brakes to, PD130 turbo, PD130 injectors a remap and all other bits to go with it damn you pete! this is going to be expensive... im going to keep it as it is for now in a couple weeks time i probably will change my mind haha

so took it home today yet again a smile on my face the whole way home..
