so just as usual my bad luck is back think im cursed.. Power steering pump packed up today so off the road until saturday afternoon.. Thats money i could have found other things to spend it on! :(

so did some more diagnostics on friday a bit further in depth checking the can wires turned out to not be the pump.. its the engine wiring loom has water ingress by the abs pump.. :(

trying for good will from skoda but doubt i will get it, then was dreading the fact i was going to have to fork out for a new loom at 4 weeks waiting and retailing at £1100 then came along tech1e to tell me it is possible to repair canbus wires! well i owe that man a drink! so once im back from college i will get to work on repairing the loom probably wont have it ready for prept but hope to have it ready for the tunnel meet!

Theres s lad at my work who came from a main dealer skoda before coming to us... he said the loom is very common + is good will regardless of age or miliage

I did hear about goodwill for them, the last one we checked was declined though.

But I would certainly repair rather than replace at the cost of the loom.

I heard the same as tech1e thats why i dont expect to get it :( its done 155k on a 02 plate but has fully service history se we will see sorta hope i dont get it because ot will probably be quicker to repair than wait for a new loom to be made, but having a new loom is always good haha

They just order the loom m8 the same as any other part ... they dont sit around making it for u lol

Nope... def just order them like any other part.. kept in stock at the factory.. especially as it is a common fabia fault

I work for Skoda, I've spoke to the parts team, they have spoken to Skoda themselves who have said has to be made specifically for the car at about 4 weeks waiting.

Either way it don't matter i don't need to order one anymore I'm going to repair it.

I dunno if they have a few on the shelf and if they do i dunno which ones they would have, i also remember my master techs one taking something like 2 months to be done that was a couple years ago now though

yeah they are made to order.

its not the engine loom you need its the front section of the vehicle harness. forgot to look for that wiring mate, ill check tomorrow.

Thanks mate no rush think my brother is going to have a look tomorrow around work to see what he can find its then gonna be put in our showroom and stripped down may even be finished by the time i get back from up here

sort of gutted was actually looking forward to doing it haha oh well i will appreciate whatever gets done its all weight off my sholders!

So i got sent this picture today..

Not good! :( managed to get some canbus wire so at the weekend i will get to repairing all the wires!
