Love the vents, thinking of doing the same to my VRS, were they a 'mare to get out?

wasnt to bad to get out i used an old card if you push it above and below it and make sure its in enough to push the clips down easier if you have two cards and easier if you have some sort of plastic wedge to leaver it i didnt have a plastic wedge and my finger nails are no longer attached to my fingers! :giggle: kinda hard to explain i might be taking out the drivers one to redo it ill try get some pictures if i do :)

hahah, yeah that'd be cool! Either way I need to replace a couple of my slats so they'll be coming out sometime ;)

Cruise control and paint the surround inside the lights stone grey? That may look pretty nice.

just gone and bought a 2007 Fabia vrs SE already with cruise control otherwise cruise control would be an option for when i travel to college

once i get the new one ill give it a clean and try and get some pictures of them together :)

i think ill still be modifying this S7 SAC as its my first car ill miss driving it every day! but soooo excited to be getting the SE ill post up the number once i get it :)

Just found this thread. I really like your car. What tinting film did you use for the interior? It looks fantastic, was it self adhesive?

Looking forward to seeing pics of the SE :-)

thanks! :)

i used this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320856880107?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_1740wt_1344 took forever to turn up it was just self adhesive just a case of keep sticking peeling sticking until you have no bubbles and use a new blad to cut it its so much easier!

the SE just arrived just drove it around the block its pretty nice :) just needs a little scratch repaired on the quarter panel (worst panel to have it on :wall: ) haha ill try get some pics up tomorrrow

Nice :-) shame about the scratch though. Thanks for the link, will have a look at doing that :-)

So i have officially now got a Fabia vRS SE

heres some pictures (sorry for the bad quality)

imagecmgf.jpg

so have been driving it around all evening and most will disagree but here is my verdict

Amazing car something i've wanted for a long time now!

but its not the same as S7 SAC after all the work i put into that car something dont feel right about driving this one almost makes me want to do the crazy thing and sell it and go back sounds really stupid but sort of wish i had spent the money and put a bigger turbo on that one and kept using that all the time the original plan was to use this from now on and let my mum use S7 SAC but today i got home and someone is interested in buying S7 SAC :heartbreak:

really dont know what to do with it all think im gonna have to keep driving this for a little longer and then decide but in the mean time i think im gonna put S7 SAC back to standard...

Modify the se. You wont be dissapointed ;)

I actually prefer your old car. Do what Jason did and make a mongrel :)

I wasn't. :D

But this is always the problem when you modify a car to your own personal desires.

It's sometimes difficult to move on, but sometimes you have to.

Either go back to the old car or start tweaking the new one.

every time someone says that i die a little inside! haha no matter what S7 SAC is staying until at least september so we will see what happens in the mean time

ive read your post about your car... just amazing i drove a 52 plate focus rs today that was putting out 275 bhp that was quick so to image somewhere close to that power in a fabia i would actually say no to owning it because i value my licence and my life! :giggle: but would love to have a go in a fabia with your power!

anyway back to my car.. haha i sorta decided to go ahead and mod it i think slowly the bits from my old one will start being transferred

today i got some new HIDs after messing about for quite a while i got them fitted

imageawpb.jpg

the first day of having it:

i put a boost pipe seal got another one come in today so will be fitting that monday

the radio was playing up so i found a sat nav from a superb laying around at work so fitted that its half working bits on order to sort it thanks to matt1chelski

straightened the steering wheel

gave it a good clean

today i had some of the plastic covers for the roof rail holes come in so i put them in

gave it another good clean and polish

leather cleaned the seats and steering wheel brought up the steering wheel really good it was half shiny now its how it was new

next on the list is:

wheels refurbished thats booked in next week

send it to the body shop to have the O/S quarter panel resprayed as there is a annoying scratch on it and the rear bumper is covered and maybe do the bonnet to as there is a few stone chips might go and do the front bumper aswell

need to get a lcr splitter aswell!

so the car went to have the wheels done today but was not done by the time i leave work so for tonight my car was dropped back at my work and I've borrowed a beast of a 2.5 Kia Sedona... wow I'm glad i don't own a kia :giggle:

I fitted some LED bulbs to my interior and sidelights no pictures but im sure you all know what they look like by now haha

as some have seen in my other topic ive been thinking about fitting heated seats but now i dont know if i want to spend the money on that or some other bits the car still needs to go to body shop too!

Hello to you, I feel this may be a little late, but may stil be relevent to your SE.

I would have suggested front light ugrades.

Black or dark gray projecor units with LED angel eye day time lights and Xenons.

Units such as thse are very hard to come by, but i have a contact in Switzerland who custom makes them. I put set on mine and it only cost 450 each. but he was starting from scratch.

He now buys old units from ebay, converts them to have LED angel eyes and xenons for just 180 each.

I arranged for him to custo make a set for another uk spec fabia about 2 years ago, that cost 200 each. (he had to convert to right hand drive)

Against the raace blue of the SE it would look very nice, and almost unique. provided you dont live/drive in bristol.

Interested????

Just saw your car on pistonheads - surely it must be an old ad http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3914608.htm

so its been a VERY long time since i last updated the car went into the bodyshop to have a couple little bits done but was being done as a sorta spare time job as i had S7 SAC to drive around in but just my luck they became very busy so was sitting around for about 2 months but is now back and immaculate! :)img01921.jpg

got it back just over a week ago and straight away i tinted the fog lights not as dark as on my other car but a slight tint

img01981.jpgimg02021.jpg

i then realised i really need some new bulbs for the fogs so they match all the other lights if anyone knows where to get some from let me know!

img02001r.jpg

i then realised that it had been idling intermittently at around 1200-1500rpm that had got worse and had a slight lumpy idle at normal rpm and thanks to tech1e! ive fitted a new accelerator peddle to solve the high idle rpm and have ordered the egr gasket from seat to hopefully solve the lumpy and hesitation a massive thanks to tech1e for helping me diagnose this!

today i saw this on jdizzy's topic

started off with tarting up the engine cover :)

IMG_0071.jpg

pastyboy badge sprayed the TDI and carbon wrapped :)

so have ordered some carbon fiber wrap

thinking maybe ill re wrap my vents in carbon fiber what do people think?

  • Author

oh and also i have some white leds to fit in my footwell should be doing this tomorrow but will be going off the headlining light rather than the door courtesy light wires at the control unit this was a right pain last time so ill try to take some pictures when i do it

and im thinking of buying this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150826748800?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_3290wt_1344

have spoken to the seller and sent him over the wiring diagram for the skoda sat nav and he said it will work fine so that way i can have a aux input without loosing my cd changer! :)

How do you remove the fog surrounds in the bumper ?

How do you remove the fog surrounds in the bumper ?

Just pull them off

  • Author

exactly that and normally you will find a lot of dirt under them if you have ocd like me it has to be cleaned! haha

  • Author

so i did my footwell lights today i decided i wanted them to come on when i used the sided headlining light bulbs so i took the light out and soldered onto the back of it for anyone wondering where to solder here a pictureimg02421h.jpg

i figured out where i had to solder then in a world of my own i soldered onto the wrong bit :wall: and then forgot to picture it done, so the x shows where not to go and the arrow and dot shows where to go

img02451f.jpg

img02461l.jpg

and working :whew:

img02471.jpg

will try to get some pictures in the dark

also been thinking about the carbon fiber wrap and think im going to leave the vents how they are and just use the wrap to wrap the top of my toolbox instead if i have some left over i may still do the engine cover :)

any other ideas for really cheap mods?

So has been a while since i updated don't know if anyone is even reading this haha

So have been thinking of some stuff i wouldn't mind to do to the non vRS knowing me ill get hardly any of it done but here goes

Visuals:

Vrs front bumper

Black front grill surround and vrs fog surrounds

Xenons

Redo the drivers air vent

Wheels redone as a bad finish at the moment maybe spiders?

Redo wheel arch trims - in progress

Engine:

Pd130/pd130 hybrid turbo

Front mount intercooler

With silicone boost pipes all round

Proper remap

Wheels are a definite, pretty sure i will end up with a vrs front bumper and the black bits, just waiting on some info on the xenons to see if i can put h7 bulbs in place of the normal headlight bulb (if anyone has wingmirrorwoman xenons can you show me a picture of the back where the bulb goes would be a great help!)

So thats the plan what will get done im not sure at the moment i will let you all know as i go :)

Also can anyone tell me how i can if possible move this thread to the fabia project section?

Loving the process dude. Plans sound good for the non-vrs too.

I agree on the vinyl wrapping, keep the interior gloss black. Was thinking of doing the engine cover in carbon wrap myself. Let me know how you get on.

Your footwell lights look really bright! Good effort on doing them though :-)

  • Author

I gave up on the carbon wrap haha have it here just never got round to it and yep they are extremely bright i made the mistake of looking into the interior light when my brother opened the door one night haha

So ive sort of put the plans for the non vrs on hold/scrapped them doing a few little bits making it look nice again considering getting a machine polisher or DA polisher as people call it and giving it a good clean up may get some spiders for the vrs and if the times comes to sell i will swap them to the non vrs not sure just yet though :)

but on with the thread..

i stripped the wheel arch moldings off the non vrs took a long while to get all the gunk off under them and then got them resprayed didn't manage to get any pictures without them on though i got them back last week some time got one side on then it rained... a lot! so ive only just managed to get the other side on

imagebef.jpg

ended up like this

imagebso.jpg

and then thought as i have a free garage and dont want the car getting wet i put it where it belongs! ;)

imageblf.jpg

and yes i know the car is extreamly dirty at the moment! :(

and ive also got some more white LED strips to change from blue in this fabia will make it much better :)
