Top speed

Featured Replies

Hi everyone could anyone tell me whether the fabia is restricted to 140mph electronically or whether its just as fast as its able to go due to power and wind resistance etc.

I ask this as theoretically the vrs should be geared to do 200mph or more( with no drag/ wind resistance, unlimited power etc)

Was just wondering what the actual top speed of a fabia would be with say 220hp

By the way i dont condone speeding i am just curious

I don't believe it's electronically restricted.

One of the boys on SCN got their Stage 1 Revo Boc to hit 150mph on the autobahn

I've hit 160mph on the speedo so not real life 160mph on a private run way. Was in 7th and 4500rpm. Skoda reckon top speed can be hit in 5th but i think that's Tosh. Prob the same way the polo hits 60 quicker than the fabia.

I wouldn't be surprised at the VRS seeing 150mph in reality. I would guess that the wind resistance would be a huge factor with this car and in standard suspension set up, I wouldn't be brave enough to do it either emoticon-0143-smirk.gif

I know one thing, the way the Stage 1 car with the ITG pulls relentlessly WAY past 100mph is very impressive for a 1.4 emoticon-0148-yes.gif

And 150 isnt too bad a speed but when a fairly heavy s3 for example is limted to 155 i would expect to see that out of a tuned fab polo or ibiza

iv hit 145....probably a bit less as the speedos usaly out

does start to get a bit scary when u hit bumps and stuff as the suspention is poop

on private grounds of course with owners permision

as someone esle said, skoda say top speed it in 5th, so theoretically, if you have more power, it should be able to pull higher revs in 6th and 7th, and thusly a higher top speed...

there are some vids on youtube, af fabia vRS's going to the red line in 6th....

Who cares what top speed.

First of all boasting it on forums can land you in alot of ****. Secondly when do you ever redline in 6th or 7th gear? I lived in Germany for nearly 9 years and only once redlined my Octavia vRS on the autobahn.

But you have to consider

What is the speed rating of the tyre. iirc mine are V which is 149mph BUT how long can it maintain that speed before heat starts to deform the tyre.

Even on a very long fast track such as Spa or the nurburgring id doubt you'd come close to topping these cars out.

My brain just spazzed out reading that :S

0-149 miles/h
on stage 1 with my big 18inch aloys.
now my speedo stops at around 155-160 with 17 inch winter tyres and stage 2 build on 7th, but i rarely drive that fast even if the Autbahn is unrestricted and no car is around ... since you will burn a full load of petrol in like 1h 10 mins

That suggests efficiency at full speed, full throttle of about 35%.

I'll be finding out what my Polo GTI can do in March.

Doing the 30-130 day at RAF Marham and you can also do full speed runs. 80 mph around the taxi part of the runway and then a 1.5 mile dash before having to brake. Should get to 140+mph, but we shall wait and see. B)

The top speeds given in the brochures on the Skoda website:

I happen to know the Greenline II is 172km/h (107mph), and that even my tyres are rated to much more than that.

Other diesels:

1.2TDI 75PS 107mph

1.6TDI 75PS 104mph

1.6TDI 90PS 109mph

1.6TDI 105PS 117mph

Petrols:

1.2 6V 60PS 96mph

1.2 6V 69PS 101mph

1.2TSI 86PS 119mph

1.2TSI 105PS DSG 117mph

1.4TSI 180PS DSG 139mph

Uhm, the 1.2 TSi 105 estate will hit an indicated 135mph (128mph on the GPS) on big 17" wheels. But then its struggling to pull beyound 120.
