It used to be a general consensus that anything over 200bhp was too much for FWD. Nowadays, thanks to other advancements I'd say you might be able to get away with up to 230 or so, perhaps. 270bhp wouldn't make for a good FWD car IMHO

They make it usable by limiting engine torque and power in all the lower gears. So it's faster once speeds pickup, but off the mark you are limited to the same traction as lesser powered cars.

Even the old 1.8 petrol auto (no turbo) car I had could spin the fronts in the right dry conditions and any damp conditions. I don't see the point in more power unless you can use it. I think my scout does a great job at takeoff on wet sloping tarmac where fwd cars need a lot of electronic intervention.

All my cars are 4wd. I'm keen to see what the Octy 3 will deliver along the same lines.
