The new 1.6's have them, so anything bigger should too.

Interesting out of the VAG stable only VW use it.

  • So you're not just carting around a full tank of fuel now, but also another 20 litres of this other liquid? And this is supposed to improve economy and "greenness"? Seems a bit arse-backwards to me :(

  • Correct adblue is basically pigs p155!! gadgetman, go to any motorway services forecourt and you can buy a clear plastic 10L container of the stuff for about £13 - £14 (used to be £10) Most newer t

I thought all the new bigger Euro 6 diesels used by Skoda from this month will be AdBlue as they are labelled SCR. Are they using another technology then?

The mqb definitely has a location for the SCR tank

BMW and Mercedes already have this on some diesel models. I saw a E Class with adblue filling point.

Audi dealer said something about it on the new A4 but switched off.

It's coming that's for sure.

The BP station at my local services sells it in 25 litre drums , one trucker bought three of them , guessing the trucks have big tanks

My A8 uses AdBlue. 2014 model.

Or are we talking about a different system now?

No, same system.

Seat use Adblue in the Alhambra.

It's a shame it's not just urea, coz if it was, all you guys need to do is drink lots of fizzy pop, Red Bull and coffee and Hey Presto! You are waking fuel tanks. you even come fitted with a nozzle for refuelling. Simples

Would drinking a bottle of Quink ink too help

Audi's been using for a while and the Yeti now uses it.

old thread but does anyone know if you have to reset anything after refilling or is it just like fuel, fill up and the sensor resets the range of Adblue indicator?

It needs resetting

It's along the lines of ignition on with drivers door open for 1 min.

The instructions are in the manual.

the dreaded manual, you don't expect me to read that when I can ask on here :D

If they'd make filling up with adblue as easy as topping up screenwash I doubt anyone would bother to complain about it. It's not like the stuff is expensive.

But noooooo the manufacturers have to bury it in the engine and label their AdBlue = Additive 2324.55.2 and charge a 1000% markup on it + an hour labour.

filling it looks easy enough but it was the reset I wasn't sure about, I decided to find out before I need it rather than when I'm about to run out!

I also don't like main dealer charges for that sort of work.

Fill it up and 30 seconds after the ignition goes on it'll reset itself with the adblue range disappearing from the Middle ;)

You are right (not sure what car I read about the door being open etc as even the Superb’s sequence is the same as the Yeti):

Before driving

After filling AdBlue® only switch on the ignition and leave it on for at least 30

s, so that the refilling can be recognized by the system. Only then start the engine.

Cool, thanks for the info everyone. Much easier than reading the manual!

This is actually for my new Alhambra but I guess it's all the same as Skoda do it.

Same as the Sharan I have.

Nice knack for filling (get it from BP as comes with pipe) is to lay it on its side otherwise it'll blow back everywhere.

Stains fabrics, and according to the bottle warnings damages plastics, rubber and metal.

Basically, your car!

Don't get all this hassle with petrol.

No you won't. You just get the hassle of filling up with fuel much more often

A price worth paying to avoid the smell of diesel :)
