vRS Brakes Cooked. Car away on a Low Loader

 I always miss the boat.....

Just as well when it's an Italian cruise ship

Cruise ship might make more sense :p

what was removed from OP ?

Your screwed if you live in a greenhouse after that one :p

Have you seen what car I drive? No stone throwing in my glass house ;)

I'm just jealous I could never drive 'spirited' enough to cook my brakes after 10 minutes

I did this. From what I can see the pads look like they have melted on to caliper and rears had sparks coming from them. I am putting it down to poor quality pads as the disks have a decent amount of life in them. So swapping back to genuine oem pads instead of oem like quality.

What has been removed from the OP then? More text, pictures....... :S

PM'd ;)

PM'd ;)

lol you first posted on this thread 13 hours after it was edited originally I hope you have a good memory. I think OP removed just to stop inevitable comments that it soon became apparent would ensue.

Is it getting fixed under warranty?

Obviously not, as the PM was something about closets and Narnia.......it's his age!

Evening all,

I am the OP. Was editing my post the other day and laptop crashed. Now all my passwords are corrupt and i can't log into anything like email, here etc.

Anyways. Car update:

2 new calipers fitted (warranty), pads (DS2500), discs (EBC Ultimax) and fluid (Castrol SRF). Seals around the pistons had melted and the pistons were in fact stuck solid.

What was left of the rubber looked like it was badly perished prior to the heat generation.

All's good now, difference is night and day.
