Sussex Police Race Blue FL VRS!

Featured Replies

Anyone know if they are petrol or diesel?

They have both.

Absolutely not, it's a stupid thing to ask someone!

I cycle 6000 miles a year on these roads and I'm fed up of people treating the roads like their own personal race tracks.

Pffft, if you can't do a bit of racing and take a few cyclists out then what's the point? Might as well take the bus!

Absolutely. In a bus you could wipe out at least 20 cyclists compared to only 3-4 in a car

Yeah but only if a bendy bus otherwise you only get about 12 of them!

I used to work with a guy who when he said something stupid and was challenged would say "I was just joking". Easy get out I guess ;)

But yeah, if it was just a joke, so what.

But deciding to go faster because someone has overtaken you is a bit sad - only in my opinion I suppose.

Can we please put a lid on this? It was a joke, a throwaway comment, a bit of fun, a jape, a giggle with like minded individuals. Surely the four exclamation marks at the end identified it as such? If not I apologise profusely for not using a smiley or two :-)

These forums do **** me off sometimes - you have to continually watch what you say otherwise somebody gets on their bloody high horse and spoils the fun. I wish I'd never posted the frickin thing in the first place!!

We should be like the premier league footballers, and shake hands after a clash - after all, they are such gentlemanly role models !! :giggle:

There are a few round here too, I've seen a couple of Race Blue pre-FL vRS's. I often get an intent glare as I pass marked police cars, I reckon they think I'm one of them :giggle:

Anyone know if they are petrol or diesel?

Are they factory standard (apart from the lights etc.) or do they get uprated brakes etc?

Is there any other ways to tell wether it is a diesel or petrol other than from the back and looking at the sizes of the exhaust pipes?

I did some police driver training with South Coast Officers and was told that the Mk1 Octavias that had were both remapped and turbo change (ie upper 200s hp), we still have Mk 1 Octavia pursuit cars here is Worcs. Because the cars have thousands of pounds worth of addtional comms equipment they are expensive to change ie not just buying the car.

VAG Holland do 310 hp kits for the Mk2 petrols but the Home Office (as was) was suppose to approve the changes but I think there is more scope for Forces to choose now.

The only way to tell a Diseasel from Petrol vRS is to open up the bonnet or look at the dash.

Otherwise they are identical including exhaust sizes.

I may be wrong here but isn't the difference quite clear once you start the car up?:D

It ain't that clear when you pass one on the other side of the motorway, trust me it's quite difficult to see under the bonnet!
