Fabia vRS Radiator Grill

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

First of all I'm new to the site and new to the world of skoda! I have bought myself a black vRS with privacy glass and am loving it hehe!

Anyway, to the point, ive been looking for an aftermarket grill with black mesh to fit to replace the standard one.

Can anyone tell me some sites that sell any? Sorry if this is a repeat post but had a scan through other topics and couldnt seem to see anything.

Thanks for any info :)

Why thankyou mrs morley, your help is much appreciated

privacy glass! What do you have to hide? I hope its not a back to front Burberry hat.

Ahh... in the good old days we used to just say "Tinted Windows" or "Tints"...

Since Privacy Glass is not a standard Skoda factory fit or delaer fit option, it's worthwhile getting the light transmittance levels tested to see if they're legal - saves a problem later if you're stopped and tested...

Also if they're not legal and you have an accident, you might be declared negligent.

IMHO in neither case would you have a claim against the person/firm who sold you the car.

addendum - check my subsequent posting below

Good information, but out of interest why did you post it?

Ive got 50%....20% over the legal amount....plus it's reflective...

Usually remove it before registration, and then redo it..

I think it was very sensible to post it - as a reminder to the poster and anyone else reading it that heavily tinted glass is not only illegal but will leave you without insurance, even if it wasn't responsible for an accident.

Agreed, but it wasnt the topic of conversation was it?

My insurers know of my levels of tint and have insured me without question.

Welcome to the forum anyway Jobo...

Not everyone on here is so up-tight.

Does anyone know how much it is these days to get theirfabia tinted front and back, roughly?

Anyone know any good places who do it?

And yes privacy glass IS a skoda dealer fit option when you buy a car from them. I toyed with the idea when i first got the car, they were going to charge me

Hi JOBO

I am looking for a grille to fix my car.

I have sent a private message.

Are you looking to sell.

Cheers

mike

Oh and by the way' date=' i decided to order the grill from MS Designs.

Has anyone got one fitted? How easy are they to fit after painting?

Cheers![/quote']

Easy to fit, takes about 15-20 minutes. One bit of advice, run the screws through the metal clips before attaching them to the grill, otherwise the clips distort and you will get very angry, or even suicidal if one happens to ping itself into the depths of the engine bay. If I remember correctly, there are 8 screws to remove from the grill, a T25 screwdriver is the only tool required. You may also be puzzled about how to get the mesh into the grill surround, well it just slides in from the back, and from one side, really easy when you've done it once. Personally I like the look of ther MSD grill, but loads of people on here dislike it,

Thanks aixlad, the help is really appreciated.

Think it was your car that i saw the grill for a start in the gallery! I think it looks real nice on the black vRS, but like you said, we cant all have the same taste.

Thanks Again

Just for reference, the above link was wrong for milotec

www.milotec.de It is. And for the record, I prefer the MS design one given the choice, but for now I'm liking my standard grill. :D

How much is it after grille and painting for those who've already got one?

Thanks!

depends on if you spray it yourself or get a garage to do it.

I wouldnt have the time to do a DIY jobby.

I would take it into a spray shop
