Diesel Injector Pipe Recall

Featured Replies

I've received a letter from Skoda today asking me to arrange a visit to a dealer to check the Diesel injection pipe on my 2010 vRS 2.0 CR. anyone else had a request for the same recall? Apparently over time resonance could cause cracks in the pipe.

We got the recall letter toady for the wife's December 2009 Vrs 2.0CRTDI, and imagine I should get one for my April 2010 Vrs Cr TDI shortly.

Bloody useless diesels!

Do one peasant troll this is a Diesel thread for Diesel people! There is nothing for you here.

Quiet you!

pity thread cannot be locked to only be viewable to people who can afford to buy a diesel to keep the riff raff out :bandit:

I love that you say that petrol is for the riff raff... where's the heavy oil Bentley, or Rolls? Kiss my shoes!

They've been on about that for ages to keep the shareholders happy.

I'll leave you do your dangerous cars :)

Do any other diesel vRS drivers hear a odd raspy/rattle noise under heavy acceleration over 2000rpm? I don't recall hearing it when I first got the car but notice it often now when the car is hot or cold.

I got my stupid letter today too :wonder: sounds like a load of nonsense to me "no failures have been reported"

My Dec 2010 registered car has less than 7k on the clock. i was planning on having service one in the summer so will probably leave this until then.

I haven't had a letter but hope i do as its a good excuse to get my rear seat bolster replaced which doesn't fit properly and rattles CONSTANTLY!!

I found this recall on VOSA's website, phoned SUK to check mine (built Nov 11) and the guy did know the recall existed...

Quick check, confirmed my reg, not required. Thankfully...

As it says, it only affected 1867 cars:

My Octavia vRS is a 61 plate, does that mean my car is exempt from this recall?

Call dealer or Skoda UK and they will check but as you can see affected cars letters are being send out.

I had this done on my 2010 vrs a couple of weeks ago & it only took 15 mins.

Didn't get a letter just a call from dealer to say it was due.

Got a recall lette for mine for this today.

Bloody useless diesels!

nothing worse than a smelly hand, glove wearing dieseasel monkey eh lol

Is this the 2011 Golf fuel system recall described below?

Looks like its the same, with a lot more detail.

Basically, yes. It seems that some of the supplies of injector pipes had some surface scoring during manufacture. That may lead to stress cracking as a result of the vibration, so the dampers are designed to iron-out the vibrations. Injector pipes are naturally subject to vibration as they handle the high pressure pulses.

I've finally booked my car in to get this looked at, I'd forgotten all about it.

Funnily enough I had my car 'done' at Sparshatts in Fareham last Friday (18/05), I had been meaning to get it done for ages having decided to leave the first service until November when the car thinks it wants it.

Was approx 1/2 hour, I'm not even sure what they did!
