  • If that was a misfire, and it was really knocking power back id have expected to see the EML flashing on the dash for a fair few seconds.

  • that is a worry..... I still believe they will just replace it and take the old box away for examination

Ok so update ;-) : Skoda uk rang me and said the parts been put into a top priority waiting list. Should (fingers crossed) have it back end of next week. I do hope so!!! Then I get to choose some freebies for good will. Noice

Sound's like SUK have SKOPEXED the order for you as your dealer clearly hasn't bothered, When a part is SKOPEXED it's a completley different kettle of fish, skoda pay to keep you in a courtesy car while meanwhile instead of waiting for your part to arrive at the depot that has no stock (hence the back-order) they go direct to the factory were the box is built (can't remeber were the box's are made but it's in europe somewere lol?) and have one delivered to the UK by air then picked up straight from the plane to your dealer direct so i am sure you won't have to wait much longer pal :)

Still waiting but very much so anticipating its return!! Fingers crossed I'll be in my own car by the weekend

Just a brief comment which may not be relevant, I get a loud repetitive knocking noise on my lowly 1.2htp at times. First thought it was exhaust or suspension knocking, but have now positively identified it as climate control motorised flap or actuator banging.

Ok so no date still for gearbox, no sign still of it being anytime soon (from repairing dealership). Email now sent to purchase dealership asking where we go from here and expressing my concerns. This is no good now I don't think I want it back anymore well, frustrated doesn't come close!!!!

Update - received a phone call from the repairing garage, the gearbox landed today with no prior warning. The service woman told me they are already on their way with fitting. So as it stands it is estimated for tomorrow night completion, following a road test by technicians and myself to make sure I'm happy.

Wilko make sure you go over it with a fine tooth comb, check the body work as its been sitting there for weeks

deffo make sure they havent bumped or scratched it,

my mate went to pick his octavia vrs up from a dealer after it had been in for two weeks due to a coil pack issue, he checked the car over and noticed they had bumped it and the rear bumper was split at the very bottom. Took him over 6 months for them to replace

Yeah they don't care IMO terrible customer services

Seboni, hari, I shall do thanks very much for your kind advice. I know the car inside out I know every scratch and stone chip. That's because there is only one stone chip and a slight washing scratch on the boot lid. ;-)

Well the cars back!! Great news, however it didn't stop there this saga. So I got the phone call 15:00 cars ready! Great seen as though I had seen it during my working day driving up the main roads. Excellent, so I get home and organised the hire cat to be picked up at 16:00. Had to fill up to the brim as they charge a fortune and will take some money off your deposit for driving it back to their base. Ok I can deal with that I thought, 16:30 at the garage no one shows up. This point I'm getting adgitaed, all this time without my car I paid for an these clowns dot come for their car. Rang them and decided sod it I'll leave it there and they can sign it off themselves. My theory was that I wanted to sign off the damage waiver with them not to be told later on that it had been scraped etc. Ok so back to the car yes, £5800 being billed to Skoda new gearbox and mechatronics gone in problem solved. Over 5 weeks its been!!, great I can't wait to get back to driving my new car. Oh hang on? Range ... 5 miles, well I'm sure I left over quarter of a bloody tank of v power in!! No mr wilkinson had to be road tested etc etc. On to Skoda I get (on a mobile) erm have no fuel how do I get home over 20 miles away? More to the point why have I been left with no fuel as it's sold out everywhere!! Ok mr wilkinson we will ring the dealership and see what's happened....zzzzz 15 mins on hold later I get bored, hang up, find the nearest bp and thank god they had some

Left for me otherwise I would of been stranded. Not happy one bit!! Yea I understand it needed road testing but come on over a quarter of a tank.... Will ring Skoda uk tomorrow when I have Cooled off as right now I am livid! The cheek
