What is a remapped VRS as quick as

Featured Replies

4wd isn't the be all end all, transmission losses, extra weight and generally slower through corners (in the dry) and you sometimes have to reconsider.

Add that to the s4 and bhp per tonne soon plummets.

IMO of course

Trust me dude.

I think this thread has got a little muddled.

A remap does not consist of a car running anything other than a pd130 turbo with a remap. I have a feeling some of the above has came from owners with a little more under the bonnet.

Fact; a leon cupra 180bhp, flappy paddled thing, is quicker than a remapped car. Some of the above cars that claimed to have been "beaten" are quicker than this motor so a little hard to believe lol.

330d :D

I've loved reading every second if this!

Low and slow. Mpg>mph I know it's a shock to most people when you say it's a diesel and how nippy it was but that's all it is nippy! If you want a fast diesel buy a a5 3.0tdi Quattro or a BMW 330/335d fast and sound good! If you want a fast hot hatch get a Clio 182 or a pug 206gti 180 or civic or Leon Cupra something along those lines!

I love my fabia and it is a complete asset to me and I don't think I will get rid for a long time but at the end of the day it performs much better when cruising in 6th at 65-70mph than it does bouncing it down the road slamming through gears to prove that your penis is just as small as the guy driving the type r next to you with his 5" exhaust on.

That's just my 2 pence worth tho.

I agree with this comment u have given hear I don't own the Fabia I own a ibiza Cupra tdi stage 1+ modded running about 200bhp and I have struggled against the likes of standerd clio sports I do know for a fact am about par with a mk2 focus ST.

So if that's what the Cupra tdi does the lower powerd Fabia apparently does about the same I should of gone for that hahhahaha

Posts like this on seat Cupra. Net always end up running wild also.

Be happy running what your running in your cars at the end of the day the pd130 and even the pd160 and pd150 are fast diesels with good results from simple remaps and kick out a hell of a torque but the likes of clio sports corsa vxrs and the bigger cars still come above but we get alot better mpg out of ours

"What is a remapped vRS as quick as?" Short answer is not a lot. I used to think a lot about wanting more power but there's always someone who has more so why bother? Just be happy with what you have and learn to make yourself faster rather than the car. A well driven car can embarrass a poorly driven faster one.

30-70 Fab VRS SE

Dazza, that car is far from just a remap mate.

As said above something tells me that more like a stage 2+ vrs

It's Jabba Stage 3 260bhp, 423lb/ft torque :giggle:

Nippy. :)

Bloody hell! Rapid! I'd have to put taller gearing in that to make better use of the torque.

May i ask What have u done to achieve that power that's what I'd like to get out of my pd160 Cupra

I have had a few good battles with cars. Here is what I have come up against and the outcome.

This is not bragging or anything, just merely what happened.

Clio Sport 172: Was a casual go from about 30 up to 70mph ish. Short 100m straight before a nice hill. He was about neck and neck up to the hill, then I went past and got a few lengths.

I have since come across a few 172's which have had various outcomes. A few being with the Fabia winning, but others have not gone so well. Mainly I think due to the drivers of each car.

Classic shape Impreza WRX- Up to about 60 and a half more it was close, he pulled a little bit, then as others have said the Fabia just dies off after that speed.

Classic shape Impreza WRX STI- I thought they couldnt be much quicker than the WRX.......wrong, very wrong :D

Civic Type R: Neck and neck from 20mph to 70mph. He then started pulling away slightly.

TT 225- Close up to 70mph with him gradually pulling away

TT V6- Fabia in front but not losing any lengths really. Could be that it was a woman driver..... :D

Saxo VTS- Fabia just left it.

Fiesta Zetec S, Focus ST170 and an Impreza WRX- The fiesta shot off like nothing, leaving the rest of us standing and laughing :D no idea what was in it.

E46 M3: This one surprised me and I think it was either a very good replica or the driver was a massive retard. Even up to 70ish mph. No way I believe it to be true but that is what happened, and yes he was going for it.

Maserati Quattraporte: Caught him napping coming out of traffic on the motorway, got a good few lengths until his gearbox changed down :D

End of the day, the car is a s quick as a decent driver. I have had some little races with Evo owners who couldn't drive a Fiesta properly and been in front, until you come to a straight.

The Fabia (mine is remapped only) is a quick little car, but it is no sportscar. I find it like an eager little dog, it is more than willing, but not always the Pedigree in the pack.

Nippy. :)

You may remember this one too Rich!!

I now know which car to buy next .....

I now know which car to buy next .....

Or rather what car not to buy next

Who wants to see a video of my s4 doing a 0-170mph sprint on the public roads against a high powered porsche then eh?

Yes - and so would the Police ;)

A mapped fabia would kill it mate!

130mph they do you know!

I've got a stage one Cupra and a stage one Fabia... Stage one pffft... they're standard with a map.

Cupra is 199bhp, Fabia is 169bhp. there's genuinely very little between them on the road, and my wife has as heavy a right foot as I do :)

I changed to the Fabia from a standard ST2 focus, the Cupra wasn't a kick in the arse off it, but not as quick. I couldn't say for the Fabia however.

I had a 182 before the ST and it and the Cupra were fantastically evenly matched. Depends who got the jump, on the other, despite the Clios total lack of Torque and power deficit compared to the Ibiza, 185bhp and 160lbs IIRC and that was with a map, full exhaust and intake :( I think it was a weight difference but couldn't be sure.

I've also had some fun in the Fabia, and without coming across like a total willy, its surprised me and a few other folks, but only after a long time and well up the figures/gears.

The last run with a DC5 had me slacking off when i noticed red hot soot shooting from the back of the car... oops! Its not as fast as a DC5 :)

It's certainly no super car, but takes the abuse when I want to give it some, it's fun to drive, i'd like it to sound a bit nicer, but its a tractor with the heart of a hot hatch! Verging on 120K miles, cheap to run, cheap to fix, cheap to maintain, not the ugliest thing in the world, its a load lugger, its been clarried in mud and boke and cow ****e and keeps coming back for more! The dogs have **** in it, its had leaks and chucks out more soot than a victorian workhouse, but it still manages to put a smile on my face and keep the money in my pocket :)

I love my Fabia! :D
