Sadly the Audi salesman is totally wrong on the Q3's platform. Bless. The new platform is the MQB and will come out first on the new Audi A3 ( http://www.autoblog....o-the-internet/ ) soon to be followed by the Golf VII. The Q3 does NOT share a platform with the new A3.

Isn't the Q3 built by SEAT in Spain, rather than Audi?

It is yes. At the SEAT factory just north of Barcelona.

I think you got the wrong guy. Phone again and ask for Will Fisher. He knows about this forum and have helped many people.

Yup, WIll Fisher is very quick and efficient.

However, I think you may need to go over SUK, which is outsourced telephone centre to Skoda head office in Czech Re.

Oh, does that mean they have scrapped plans for the Tribu or does that mean the Tribu is definitely going ahead?

The link below suggests they are waiting for the Q3 to bed in before they "might" start Tribu production:

Did someone post the SUK customer service manager's name as a good point of contact to 'downgrade' wheels to 16"?

Can't find the post.

Cheers

Thanks TP. What a world of difference Will Fisher is compared to the irritation I had the misfortune of speaking with last week.

I was surprised and dazed however when Will asked '.... and would you be prepared to pay to downgrade your wheels?'. Is it just me or does this concept not sit well?

If they actually let you pay extra on downgrading then see if you could pay extra for those special paint for the Yeti that are not available in the UK: http://www.skoda-aut...ours_fleet.aspx. After all if you are allowed to pay for an extra not included in the UK, using the same logic set out by Skoda UK means you could opt for options not available here.

No mention of a charge to 'upgrade' to 16" alloys when I sorted mine. Possibly a new SUK ploy to discourage people from asking.

If they would just relent on this dogmatic position of not offering customers a choice, make life so much easier for everyone.

I will post back when I get to find out Skoda's position on this. Interesting colours but a bit acidic for me.

TOP MARKS TO WILL AT SUK FOR SORTING OUT MY 16" WHEELS DOWNGRADE.

Build date seems to have been pushed back slightly, now showing wk25 but I guess it might not be an effect of specifying non standard (in the UK at least, standard in mainland Europe) wheels but more because of the natural variability in build date as time progresses. Either way, looking forward to the more comfortable ride that the 16" offers.

I know it's a old thread but here is the facts of the platform.

Yeti 5L is built on the A5 - PQ35-platform

Other cars at same platform are.
