Featured Replies

right so here goes ive been stupid and i think ive fooked my jvc double din :(

was sung in the dash with all the wiring ect so tonight i pulled out the glove box to get access and pull the wiring from behind it so it could go fully into the dash and as i was doing it i cought the live on part of the metal structute of the dash

blew the 15 amp in the drivers side fusebox

the one in the head unit seems ok but there is no life from the head unit

could i have blown something else in the car or have i fried my 700 quid head unit with a stupid moment of not disconnecting my battery :wall:

You might have blown more than one fuse? Does the cigarette lighter socket still work?

Remove the HU, and check the loom for ground, +12v perm and +12v ignition feeds before thinking it is game over.

Access for cables can be a bit tight - I did something similar, but I shorted out the lighter socket (via my mobile charger) when fitting my new Parrot kit. In my case, I was testing the power injector for my aerial at the time, so did need power!

like said mate, checklist everythings works

interior light

all gauges and counters lol

i remember when doing richs it was getting dark and we started rushing and we ended up with a dead fuse .... :giggle: iirc the fuel beeper lol or something annoying

hope you get it sorted
