Does anyone have any pictures of their Greenline Twindoor?

Featured Replies

I saw one on the motorway today in standard blue and with the smaller wheels I wasn't a fan. Does anyone have any pictures of their Greenline twindoor as Google images seems abit thin.

Have a look on the Skoda Uk website where you can view used stock at main dealers. Startin Skoda near Worcester have a Twindoor Greenline on their forecourt. I actually stopped by a week ago and got chatting to one of the salesmen. When I said I was just looking out of interest and that I had previously driven a Superb Twindoor, he asked me what was a Twindoor! I kid you not.

Collecting mine on Friday so will post a couple of pictures for you

I was similarly concerned about the small wheels looking a little lost on the Greenline twindoor. That was up until the test drive car arrived on-site when I immediately thought it looked fine, if not great. Why the difference in opinion then? Well, the test-drive car was in brilliant silver, and being a near identical colour to the alloys, the wheels no longer jarred on the eyes. Point being that the alloys weren't a contrasting colour to the body, and hence didn't stand out or draw the eye as much.

In fact, I was so impressed that I did a complete U-turn at time of ordering: when the Greenline arrives it'll be in the same brilliant silver as the test car with a black interior. Previously, I was all set on a metallic blue and the ivory interior.

I know what you mean. I was looking at the Cappuccino or the Steel Grey. The white is nice but I fear I'll be cleaning it all the time. I still feel the twindoor looks odd when viewed from the back (i.e. you are following it on the road) and that the estate looks better but I can't justify the extra £3k :(

Mike - When did you order yours, if you are collecting on Friday?

The wheels look fine. The greenline is 15mm lower aswell which I think helps. Steel grey is now called Platin grey.

I never got chance to see my colour before ordering but I'm glad I took the chance. The dark leather/Alcan interior looks great with the chrome and 'piano' black trim. Really pleased with mine. Don't worry about the lower power of the Greenline either this was my biggest concern, its better than you would expect and very smooth. I'm yet to go over 3k revs aswell.

The gearbox is set up really well and from 3rd gear upwards the ratios are really long which makes for quiet cruising.

Interesting point on the white - I have a Candy White SE Estate and thought that I would be cleaning all the time but to be honest I've been pleasantly surprised by it. Recently it went approx 3-4 weeks without a wash on the wet, salty roads and faired pretty well. Must admit though, when it's clean it looks damn good - which gives me a blatant opportunity to show you a picture:

CTS's car is how mine will end up looking (assuming I go for the Grey). I've had a couple of white cars before and like the colour but I'm not sure the Twin-door looks as good in White.

I do feel the Estate looks better and I'm really wishing I didn't.

That may be because its called the superb hatch.

Twindoor is what they call the revolutionary boot opening mechanism according to the brochure.

Even so Ruffday, he's got to be slightly dim not to put 2 and 2 together to realise.

In Skoda circles, there is an understanding that the Superb Twindoor is the hatchback/saloon variant, while the Combi is the European term for the estate. I'd have expected a Skoda franchised dealer to know this, without me having to explain.

I think the back of the twindoor looks better with the small spoiler that you get on the Greenline, 2.0TSI and V6

Thats what I mean. Unless it was the poor boys first day he should have known or at least had a rough idea.

Oh well, lesson learnt - we hope!

There seems to be a bit of variation in the colour naming. The skoda website and the brochure I had from the dealers call it Steel Grey, but when doing the order on Saturday last, the delaer didn't recognise steel grey. We ended up using the paint code to ensure I got what I wanted.

Steel grey and platin grey are the same colour and colour code. This colour has always been called platin in european markets and steel grey in the UK market.

Skoda brought all in line and the same by calling this grey colour platin for uk markets aswell.

That makes sense. But the blues are still confusing. Some quote Pacific Blue as metallic even though in the catalog its a base colour and thus not metalic. And Petrol Blue often looks so different between different cars that I assume some are saying its Petrol blue when really its not.

I really wanted an SE with a couple of optionals added but would have had to wait for build time - my circumstances dictated that I needed a car more quickly and the local dealer found 3 SE greenlines that were sitting in Germany ready to come to the UK so colour selection was limited also - they did have a white one which was tempting as I think it looks lovely in white (but the boss of the house objected for the reason that our local taxi rank is full of black and white superb's and didn't want punters diving in to the back seat at traffic lights)

We opted for the Amethyst Purple, which is nothing like the colour in the brochure and is more of a beige colour. It certainly has a purple tinge in a certain light.

Pacific Blue is definitely a solid colour and actually looks quite good on a Twindoor.

The now discontinued Storm Blue Metallic was a gorgeous colour, whereas, Petrol Blue just resembles a dirty blue with a hint of green.

I'm very pleased with my Steel Grey Combi, especially as my Mocha first choice was discontinued just before I ordered. Steel Grey makes a nice change from my previous Rosso Brunello Twindoor

Storm Blue is meant to be back according to the latest brochure, but there seem to be some problems getting orders placed at the moment.
