The mongrel's mpg has gone awesome!

Featured Replies

Seems my manifold repair has had a very positive effect on economy. Beforehand the car felt sluggish/overfuelly pulling 6th gear at 70mph (1800 revs). It would only feel comfortable @ 70mph in fifth gear which meant just over 2000 revs and probably worse economy.

On my trip to Ultimate Dubs this weekend I noted the car felt much more comfortable pulling 70mph @ 1800 revs, even on slight uphills, and I was shocked to see the trip saying I averaged 67mpg by the time I got to Telford. I know this in reality, is more likely to be 56 to 58mpg, considering my tracked fuel economy before was only 46mpg, this is hell of an improvement. Going to have to separate out my fuelling to keep track on "post manifold warping" economy....

Oh, and performance is now pretty good. ;)

Good stuff Jason, bring on Castle Combe. Think I might do an extra session in the afternoon as well :)
