Fuel -

Ultimate Petrol & Diesel is nearly £1.50 a litre where I am. Just where is this going ?

2003 the depots were blockaded until the country was on its knees. That's because the price dared to touch £1 a litre !

Your thoughts.

  • Crazy but I will get worse buy end of year £2 litre

  • Thats just a bit more than here 32K - i think last time i filled up with V-Power on the motorway a few weeks back it was £1.52

A few months back they broke down prices at the pumps into sections so you could see how much fuel was before tax. Heres a breakdown of Petrol @ 132.9p a Litre:

Duty : 57.95p

Product :47.8p

VAT : 22.15p

Retailer : 5p

Crazy but I will get worse buy end of year £2 litre

It's still cheaper than lager though.

Glass half full viewpoint.

Hic.

You drinking now? (sp?) lol

V-Power is £1.59 over here. :@

Think its 144.9 near me... Still far too much.

Goverment should take less, we'll drive more and they'll get the same tax out of it.

Maybe the next Briskoda meeting should be a blockade :bandit:

Johnny dont you mean a lynching? For whoever is responsible for these prices

[rant]

In my country we still get employees to fill up the cars at gas stations - it is not self service like in the UK.

Well anyways, every time I fill up my wife's car with 95 (in contrast to mine which gets vpower all the time) I get the lecture "why don't you fill with our new slightly more expensive but amazing, fantastic, super this super that petrol which contains cleaning agents and will lower your consumption and blah blah"... shut up with the lecture and get on with it,I want 95!

Like we are not paying them enough and what is worse is this Shell "loyalty" scheme that the more often you fill up the more points you get which you can spend on great (they mean laughable) products. Ridiculous. *there's that word again.

VPower near me is £1.42 per litre. Tescos Momentum99 is around £1.39 a litre and we quite often have 5p or 10p a litre offers on when spending over £50 instore

It is strange that 9 years on and with all the social media we now have there has been no momentum around a fuel protest. Probably too much news out there at the moment for the media to whip up the story but it could be on the cards this year. Imagine Nick Robinson and Robert Peston have it planned in!

Of course the plus side is it makes our little Fabias look even more attractive!

Also can understand why small business is in such a bad way, every works van I have see recently has been driven like it has been stolen.

isnt the fact theres no fuel protesting due to anti terrorisim laws? im sure theee was some stipulation in that act which made it much hardwr to protest fuel prices with blockades.

Yeah, the last blockade did go a little too far. When peoples lives are at risk from the lack of response, that's it.

tbh if petrol goes up 10p a litre, thats a whole £4.50 per tank. If i do say 3 tanks a month thats a massive £15 extra ill have to pay.......... :whew:

I think ill manage :giggle: im pretty easy about it tbh. Things are getting more expensive, the country is in massive debt which needs paying off with taxes. People need to accepet it IMO. As long as things go back to normal once it is sorted i dont mind

Its fantastic news so I am organising a special meet that month. There will be several exciting competitions! There will be a 40cm sprint, ear and nose hair pigtail demos, and a liver spot the difference competition! Book fast and avoid the creaking crowds!

Prices are sickening. I reckon from a completely dry tank my vRS would be about £55-£60 and that's a small car. My cousin's Vivaro is well over £100 now.

At the current price at an average 30mpg, 12k miles a year costs approx £2400 :bandit:

Just spent £56 quid filling mine up for bang on the red line just before the light came on

It makes me feel frustrated and helpless. They are taking the pee good style. The government, the oil companies, all of them. But I don't think there's a thing we can do about it.
