  • Apparently things ARE going to go back to normal just as soon as its sorted! The minister I spoke to says we can all look forward to cheapo petrol in approximately July 2097. Its fantastic news so

  • Crazy but I will get worse buy end of year £2 litre

  • Thats just a bit more than here 32K - i think last time i filled up with V-Power on the motorway a few weeks back it was £1.52

Dreamt last night the fuel light came on so went to stick £50 in but only got quarter of a tank. The way it's going that will be reality.

More like a nightmare ! :whew:

They need to do something as its getting ridiculous! Think of the hauliers (sp?) transporting stuff for us, food is going up too because of this! Lots of unhappy motorists should make a stand should it get much higher!

Maybe we should start a forum poll in the main section? Get a few more forums to do the same...

Viva la briskoda revelotionie

Sounds like a plan providing it actually does something.

Budget said no change to existing planned increases

That is correct, so thats an increase on 1st August of 3P a litre, or 16P a gallon in old money which will take fuel to more than £7 a gallon.

VPower Racing = 1.945Euro

And for a full tank you get free sweets. Isn't this a a bitter-sweet deal. No?

My answer is to keep the Fabia diesel (currently averaging 71mpg), sell the Vstrom 1000cc bike (36mpg...yes honestly!), and buy a brand new Suzuki Burgman 400cc maxi scooter. It has ABS, auto tranny, heated grips, hand guards, passenger and rider backrests, huge on board storage (enough to carry my laptop, camera, briefcase and clothing under the seat), fuel injected engine, near 100mph top speed with easy 75mph cruising one or two up, and wait for it...near 90mpg economy but currently averaging 74mpg but getting better everyday as it breaks in. Tax and insurance virtually nothing! It beats the traffic easy with 0-62mph in around 7.9seconds. You get car reliability and tremendous easy of use and free parking mostly everywhere. I'm happy as are many who are making the switch. For anyone interested...I'll post some pictures when I'm home and got some time. :hi:

I think there is something we can do about it but it will never happen due to apathy!!!! A collective country-wide boycott would work but there 's not a cats chance in hell it'd ever happen.

They have us by the short and curlies and don't care.

KIds,

The hope, as always, is that the price of oil will drop significantly before August. I think there is still a good chance that the rise will be postponed but he's not going to telegraph it 6 months out.

I had a Suzuki Bergman 400 until 2 years ago (was in mint condition) then I sold it. Biggest mistake ever...... Soooooo, I decided to get another set of 2 wheels and now have a Honda SH300i.....MAGIC............. Even better and quicker than the larger engined Suzuki.

However, as I don't like getting too wet and cold it's a fair-weather mode of transport....but fun!

Having a choice of 2 wheels or 4 is the best outcome but of course the purchase price and insurance etc for the 2 wheeler would also have bought at least a couple of yearsworth of diesel for my Superb!

Hi Opimist, yes...SH300i, very nice! I tried one and liked it but being very tall with long legs I wanted a bit more space onboard so hence the Burgman. The Burgman is definitely a long distance cruiser but can certainly lift it's skirt and go too. I use mine mostly all the time and expect to cover big mileage on it, just like my big motorcycles. Are you a Maxi Muppet? (you car guys, most maxi scooterists know what this is!). :giggle:
