Or a Fiesta ST :giggle:

The problem is higher fuel costs mean higher goods costs, since fuel costs get passed on to us via an increase in the cost of everything. So it costs us more to go to work, and to buy food so we spend less on leisure goods and services. Stuff doesn't sell, businesses close down.

If you decrease tax on fuel, you increase spending elsewhere. Costs less to go to work, costs less for food so people buy goods and services which in turn provide a tax income for the government.

Tax paid would stay the same (probably, I'm not digging into figures), but everyone is happier :)

Mate runs a insignia Vxr he gets 17 mpg lol

My Local BP garage is now charging £1:46.9p per litre for normal diesel

If no petrol was bought today they'd have to give it away tomorrow as there would be no were to put it.

Just think if no one bought petrol for a week.

Would that actually work? I reckon if I knew in advance I could easily go a week without needing a fill up but what about everyone else?

I only fill up once a week as it is!

BP Ultimate petrol £1.52 here.

I've never been the one for moaning about fuel, it is what it is really, but I read that some garages are profiteering.

Why do Services charge so much more for fuel considering thier supply chain is the best ?

Sort of understand the ' in the sticks' guys charging a little more, but it does wind me up a bit when I see what they're charging.

Probably. But I'd still have to check the oil.

The problem is not getting people to not BUY fuel. You need to get them to not USE fuel.

over £70 a tank of diesel. I don't even do the miles to warrant a diesel anymore, oh and I'm lucky to see low 40's on my daily commute because it's only a few miles. winning.

Back to petrol for me next. Preferably with a big turbo attached or many cylinders to play with :D

But if you get a bigger engined petrol car with a big turbo you'll see 20mpg all the time!

It costs me £65 each time to fill up with v-power in my vRS. I treat it to the good stuff because I do fewer miles and can afford to, if i were doing more miles i'd have bought a diesel again.

£85 for Tesco 99 here. God bless 60 litre tank and 25mpg :giggle:

It ranges over here (Northern Ireland) from £1.41 to £1.47 for supermarket basics and £1.45 to £1.49.9 for anything else.

I am fortunate that I have a car averaging 60 plus mpg...and can time my work visits so that I can pop over to southern ireland and pick up derv for between £1.29 - £1.35...makes a hell of a difference to my bottom line.

Prices are sickening. I reckon from a completely dry tank my vRS would be about £55-£60 and that's a small car. My cousin's Vivaro is well over £100 now.

Yep, can get £100 top ups in the Passat now. Makes you laugh that I sold my Jeep a few years back when fill ups started to cost £70. If I still.had it it would be over £130.

Cheers

Lee

Fill your tank up tonight. Isn't it Budget day Tomorrow?

I know it may be even higher now, but doesn't this look familiar? It was just over 20 years ago.

I posted it here: http://www.briskoda....ost__p__2724500

Also back then, it was also priced in Gallons too.

Yesterday's fill was £1.489 for me.

Compare this to 11 days ago, £1.459

What the hell is going on?

Perhaps they are rising it to knock it down a lot to make them look good?

Sort of rhymes doesn't it .....

Dreamt last night the fuel light came on so went to stick £50 in but only got quarter of a tank. The way it's going that will be reality.

Budget said no change to existing planned increases
