After the recent disappointment in missing out on a 59 plate 4x4 Cr 170 Elegance, I am back smiling again after test driving and agreeing to buy a

July 09, Cr 170, Dsg, Elegance Hatch in Rosso Brunello (Maroon?) with Park Assist and Witter demountable towball with 13pin elecs. 26k miles, from D.M. Keith (York) Skoda dealers.

The private plate that was on it has been retained by the single owner, the reg was MYSKODA, I've changed two numbers to letters because I'm not sure I should be posting someone else's reg online, I believe he now has the plates on a new Superb with similar spec but a different colour.

I was just wondering if the original owner was member or regular visitor to Briskoda giving his obvious loyalty to the brand and whether he could give me his thoughts on this motor good or not, any history, advise about the tow bar etc., just a shot in the dark really. Any info through would be appreciated, I can be contacted through the messenger function on my details or even through this topic.

I'm sure some of you folks must have seen this distinctive reg.

I was having to put a towbar on anyway and would have got a £500 Westfalia demountable from P F Jones (M/c) , paying the extra £150 to have the Skoda wiring ( after checking various post on this topic on here) so that the rear sensors etc., work properly, so it was an unexpected bonus even though it looks like this wiring isn't up to spec.

If it all goes to plan I will be leaving my trusty Octy and fab Fab with them and driving off with my new little number. It was time for the Octy to go and will miss the grunt of the Pd and will more surprisingly miss the fun of the Fab.
