  • Looks wise i prefer the FL and boyfriend prefers mine but both them from every angle look good to me. It has a solid shape to it, theres nothing out of proportion, in comparison to the older 5 series

  • I love my M2 ( it is not a pre FL it is a M2) as with all facelifts they do not look right, that is why I have not changed mine, better interiour maybe, bu the exteriour is a no no .

The Se wheels are awful, dont suit the car at all IMO.

I bought one for these reasons,

You dont see many on the road

Feel of refinement,

Great background of history and owners who are interested in their cars,

and also because of the reasons you choose one.

I like the look of them and I always have done, albeit it wasnt my first choice until I test drove a few other cars, I had a think about what cars I had missed out then remembered the Octavia vRS, as soon as I sat in one I was a changed man.

Depends on the reg. If you've got a facelift model, then yes, it looks like the b@stard offspring of a Hyundai!

I have the pre-fl however, and love the way THAT looks. :)

I love mine and prefer it to my pre fl

Looks great but I wouldn't take mine out the garage if I got it looking that shiny

No matter how many times i look at my car it still looks like a pig.

You bought a car that you hate the look of? DOH!

Yes I bought my vRS for it's performance, huge boot, race blue paint AND its looks, I think it looks brill.

How is your Pig, Silver, any better.

never said i hate the way it looks?they are not the best looking cars on the road thats for sure but the best vfm.mine is 57 plate black with 18" wheels

i really like the look of my pre fl vRS , Rear tints, 18's plus its always kept mint , and at night the zenons are amazing plus make car look more modern than its year i think, but the performance, great mpg and practicality of the huge hatch is unbeatable , and the fact that mine is better spec'd , better performance and 10mpg more local than my mates Merc that he paid more for - Happy Days

Saw one in 2002 while out for a drive and swore that some day I would buy one.

It took me until 2010 to buy my one.

My next car is going to be another vRS octy.

Just need to decide which color. But after seeing the Anthracite one above I think my mind could be made up

Nah, the FL is better than the pre - it's got more toys.

Looks wise i prefer the FL and boyfriend prefers mine but both them from every angle look good to me. It has a solid shape to it, theres nothing out of proportion, in comparison to the older 5 series BMW, the back end looked huge and the rear wheels look lost. The spoiler does not look chavvy infact i think it completes the car, i think it has been designed well. Plus the Race blue catches your eye when cleaned well :)

Apart from the looks its very versatile, easily fits 5 adults and a boot full of shopping, nippy little engine and great fuel return, pleasure to drive (when the DPF light is not up) Can be fun to drive when you want to get home in a hurry or if you just want to relax its a nice place to be.

In conclusion out of all the other cars i was going to buy, Audi's, VW's, Mazda's ect, iv made the best choice :)

It is you. Mine is a lovely pig.

Everyone I know who has seen mine has said how much they like its looks. Maybe they are all just being polite? However I too like its looks and I also like sitting in the drivers seat having fun whether that be pootling around town, cruising the motorway or hooning it on the B roads. I also like the fact I didnt have to spend silly money for a nice looking, reasonably rare, fast car loaded with toys.

Not exactly a beautiful thing.... But has enough character and rugged looks to be admired.

Nothing else on the market fits the bill for me - I can load it up with a road breaker for work without dropping the seats... And the next day transport the kids 300miles trouble free.

Yes I bought mine as its big cheap fast and has a friendly fan club.

Never really been into good lookers integrales, Subaru legacy turbo, Uno turbo, g60 golf, Holden Hsv supercharged etc - practical purposeful motors really.

had a few lookers though - '72 saab 95 v4, Gtm libra v6, 993, 156 gta sw, 159 ti sw, 355 - but the engineering interest was higher on the list than the looks

Had a go in a vrs about 2001? Bro in laws - swapped my grale for a week - really liked it - ten years later got my own ( he loves the grale but liked handing it back to a sensible car)

Prefer fl as it hasn't got a sad face and the tsi motor is a giant leap forward in everyday motoring and out of the box tuning potential.

I love the shape of the vRS, that's one of the reasons why I bought it. I think it looks real classy. Fell in love with it before I even did a test drive, and I havn't been disappointed. I havn't seen that many about on the road, and of course I have it in the best colour!

Never said I hate the way it looks? They are not the best looking cars on the road thats for sure.

To be fair its not often someone calls a car they don't hate a pig!

The pre-FL looks more aggressive and far less feminine...

i have a dog and its a pug so not ture

Confused. Do you like the look of the car or not?

Is it just me that thinks the pre face lift looks more sporty than the fl, pre fl looks mean at the front and differant than a standard octy, the face lift front looks much the same as a standard fl front.

Just look at the Pic above , the pre fl looks way more aggressive at the front!

The big advantage the FL has is those LED DRL's - they look ace

not really, maybe bit harsh to say it looks bad but no way does it look good

It is worth remembering that the MkII Octavia is 8 years old now (2004 - 2012).

The 2009 facelift got new headlights, wing mirrors and dash but other than that it is identical.
