I know that diesels are fuel efficient but I didn't expect to get this figure

How did you get that? Mine doesnt hold enough figures for that.

I've seen a much higher figure for my petrol 4X4. The problem is getting a digital photo before the reading disappears...:(

I see it quite often, I just wished it would show more consistently!!!!

I get 52mpg on my way to work (7 miles) and 47 on the way home. I don't get it

I always get 50-55 in to work and 55 - 62 on the way home (27 mile journey)

Less traffic on the return journey so no wasting fuel sat in traffic.

Looks a bit suspect to me, best I have ever seen in any car of mine was 67.7 mpg, on a trip from Winchester to Manchester non stop.

Ive had around that figure many times, just doesnt hang around too long ;)

Yep, tends to show very briefly when coasting downhill.... :D

I've had it reading above 60 mpg whilst actually 'driving' at 50 mph in sixth. Hardly ticking over then, flat road, no wind and all that.

Still, even at high speeds it still does 30ish mpg when not accelerating - at more 'regular' motorway speeds around 40-45 seems to be where it's hovering.

Hard to tell tho as the instant MPG is always jumpy ;)

Most for me seems to be 140mpg momentarily on the Furby, downhill no gas, before the instant display goes to '---' :)

My best average was 68mpg over a very short journey, grannying it all the way to see how high I could get it! My trip 2 computer's still showing an average 38mpg though at just under 5k miles :( can't complain, the last car averaged 16-20mpg as a rule :D

Now if that was on the display for Avg , then it could go in the Guinness book or records :D

It is

I guess driving to 120mph then resetting the trip and coast for a couple of miles would get the average nice and high...

One way to get that MPG would be to start the car on a downward hill just touching the loud pedal gently giving you this average. ;)

I wanted to get an average MPG of 42 on a 250 mile drive that I did in just over 2 and a half hours. Now I was very impressed by that!
