  • Exactly and I know I've not cut corners and done it properly. The hardware from k03 stage 2+ to k04 only cost me £668 inc all gaskets etc so it's been a cheap build (providing the misfire isn't a b

  • Yeah. I got the turbo, injectors and quite a bit of the pipe work from ebay for £525 and collected/ examined myself. I bought the rest of the pipe work from eBay/ golf forum. I got all the seals and d

Come on in it's great fun!

Yours really will make good power and torque :)

Not sure about the economy but on my usual commute up the Yorkshire wolds this morning I got 35mpg, I was lucky to get 30mpg on the k03. This was on the trip computer so I guess it could be way out lol.

I know when you boot it it consumes fuel at a rapid rate.

All sounds good.

I know in the past when ive changed injectors its has increased my mpg on the positive side. I checked mine by doing a few tank to tank manual calculations and then the odd random check. From these figures I got the true reading and just applied that to every trip computer reading.

I think it is possible to change in VCDS but when I looked in to it it was a fair amount of effort and I didnt think it was justified considering how easy it is to do a manual calculation and adjustment.

How good would it be if it is accurate and your mpg has improved on a KO4 :giggle:

I'd love that kind of mpg but I can't see it as the gauge is going down fairly quick now :S

I'm getting the injector soon so I'll do a tank to tank measurement, I think if it's 6mpg out I'll have to change it or it'll do my head in.

Do you have an LSD fitted and if so, what's it off / what kind is it? I was wondering how usable the power is if not? I've recently taken delivery of a new vRS and even in the dry it'll light up the tyres in first and second is right on the edge of if breaking traction. In the wet its really frustrating (previous 2 cars were powerful 4wds). I can't imagine what it would be like trying to make progress with an extra 120bhp in mine. Even at std power i'm keen to do something to aid the traction issues.

Not that complicated. You just need a full tank calculated by brim-to-brim and during that tank make sure the car's MPG is reset as well. Then do the sums and see how far out the car's average for that tank was, compared with your manual calc. With those two figures you can calculate the percentage difference and that's what gets entered into VCDS.

When I did mine it was 9.5% optimistic. I've got the post Mike did for how to enter the adjustment in VCDS, when you're ready :)

Thanks Wardy, that sounds a lot easier than the imethod I was considering.

No worries. Best if you know the next tankful will be fairly varied, so you can get the best 'real life' accuracy; so when I did it usage was local, built-up A-road, fast A-road, B-road and motorway. I'm sure you get the idea ;)

Does make looking through the trip comp stats a bit more depressing, but at least you know it's right! And I'm sure yours will be a lot worse than mine looks :p

No LSD fitted and I don't usually boot it in first and second. I mainly use the extra power for overtaking and showing the Corsa gang up lol.

I've just finished fitting the new injector and the misfires have now disappeared, time to enjoy :)

Interestingly I got 82 miles out of my first 1/8th of a tank and my trip computer read 42.2mpg.

Are you sure you didn't fit a K02? :p

LMFAO 42.2mpg.

Learn to drive man. I've had it down to 8mpg before...:D

Lol I'm sure, stay off the loud pedal and I think it could be quite economic. The loud pedal will be very addictive now though :D

Was you giving Brimma a lift?

Easter traffic what can I say.

Harry do you know what G/S readings you get in vcds?

What do you mean by G/S mate?

Grams per second in block 003. Log a full flat out run which will give a very rough bhp figure.

I just wanted to see what an S3 engine gave. They say a K04 converted gti is between 230-250 g/s

If your running different injectors or fuel pressure the trip computer will be way out ;)

interesting, my stage 2 TSI makes 229 G/Sec....

244g/s from memory now I know what you're talking about

The trip computer might be, but the fuel gauge shouldn't?!

Agree but didn't he say trip computer?

Agree but didn't he say trip computer?

Indeed he did, but he also mentioned getting 82 miles from the first 1/8th of a tank?

How do you calculate a rough bhp from g/s anyway?
