Accelerator reaction time - tweak over VCDS or Vag-com

Featured Replies

AFAIK changing (shortening) the accelerator pedal reaction time by software (VCDS or Vag-com) is possible. I find the default reaction time of the pedal slow.

What is the channel number? Which value makes it more responsive?

Thanks in advance ;)

This is probably peoples interpretation of the dreaded DSG hesitation...I notice the lag coming from a cable throttled car...BRING BACK WIRE is what i say!!

Er sorry no idea how to do it via VCDS. I would suggest posting in the VCDS sub forum as you may get a better response from a wider audience!

It was same on my non-DSG cars. When you press the accelerator, the engine revvs after couple of seconds.

I feel a noticeable delay when quickly changing the position of the gas pedal (Gear position: N). Throttle response?

there was a guy cant remember who but after aving probs with a remap got another company to sort a remap out and they were able to sort this out. By what i understand it doesnt open throttle body half if your pushing on throttle half but say u push to 3/4 its opened throttle body full. i know i have read sumthing abiut this maybe vrsy could help???

That was me.

Slightly different issue though. My problem was that the ratio of throttle input to throttle opening is not a 1:1 ratio after the pedal is over 3/4 depresed. For instance if you press the pedal 50% it opens the throttle 50% which is great and what you want. But at around 75%(ish) pedal depression the throttle is suddenly opened to nearly 100% which renders the remaining movement of the throttle pedal as useless.

I found this a real pain on a wet trackday at Mallory Park around Gerrards when i was at 3/4 throttle around it as it kep moving from 3/4 throttle to 100% with the tiniest movement. Jabbasport then remapped my car for me and changed the throttle input ratio to a 1:1 ratio so that it was much more linear and easy to modulate.

What the OP is describing seems different. Id say hes describing turbo lag personally

oh okay well i would prefer a 1:1 ratio aswell, just makes sense really like wire throttle does

Think you can get something called a sprint booster that might do the job, cant remember much about them though

DSG lag is pretty much fixed in latest software. Turbo lag is a possibility.

Don't notice much throttle lag personally (in TSi though), not like for example MY2000 1.6 Golf, literally 1 second delay. The delay makes the car easier (smoother) to drive in traffic I believe, so like anything it's a compromise.

After ECU and gearbox software update car has become more responsive, I like it now :)

(also turbo shimmed, timing chain replaced under warranty)
