Agree with all of that. With regard to force india, I think thats what Di Resta was getting at after the race, he admitted his mistake in Q3 but they messed up the strategy big time this race. Paul wa

Why gutted?? You wanted Alonso to be world champion by not actually winning the championship?

No rules broken according to FIA so Vettel is legit champion. Even if i was a fan of another driver i wouldnt want my favouite driver to become the champion when he didnt deserve it.

As a previous poster said, its over now, accept it and look to next season.

It is just sad, Ferrari acts like a little child who doesnt get any candies. If not directly, then try it afterwards with everything that is possible.

Why cant they just let it rest, so it doesnt make F1 more of a farce it already is?

Yes it's over, so Ferrari have turned their attention to something else:

The Ferrari F1 team has announced that it is ‘evaluating’ whether to launch an official protest against Christmas.

‘Last December we became aware that a man travelled the world giving gifts to children whilst wearing a suit that made unauthorised use of the signature red and white Ferrari colours,’ said Maranello spokesman Paul Oozer. ‘Since then we have been carefully examining footage of this ‘Christmas’ event and, although we did not mention it at the time, we now believe we have a case against the gentleman who infringed our copyright, Mr Claus, which we can string out in an over-dramatic and pathetically childish way.’

If the Italian team decides to go ahead with its action against Father Christmas, it could have dire consequences for the jocular Laplander’s usual present distribution routine and indeed for Christmas itself. However, Ferrari believe they have a solution to this potential seasonal crisis; ‘As the rightful users of the red and white colour scheme, we would take over the whole Christmas event,’ said a spokesman. ‘Fernando Alonso has the pace to deliver presents all over the world in just one night and Felipe Massa looks like an elf. Plus, the 2012 car was basically a bit of a turkey.’

As for the actual presents to be delivered to youngsters across the globe, Ferrari claim they would have a solution to that too. ‘What child would not want to receive a Ferrari-branded golfing glove or Ferrari-branded ice scraper?’ their spokesman asked. ‘Although of course in return the child would owe us 390 and 735 Euros respectively.’

Whilst Ferrari continue to deliberate on their next move, others are less than impressed with their potential plan to ruin Christmas. ‘For ****’s sake, can’t they just drop it and move on,’ said the rest of the world, yesterday.

Class. Ferrari have lost a lot of respect i would have imagined not least because of this latest issue but also the "engine seal" fiasco as well. So much for racing heritage.

Still getting money for it ...

Although I hate vettel, you cannot take it away from him, he has come from the back several times and been in the points, he will no doubt win next year and probably for several years to come, alonso did a sterling job in a crappy fiat just a shame the best driver ever ever ever ever didn't have a proper car ( mercedes) all hail the schumi

I have to admit that schumis come back although not very succesful ( not his fault ) has done wonders for his reputation. IMO. At least he can be considered human now. He is still without doubt the single most uncompromising driver in F1. Ruthless does not even begin to cover it. Sad to see him go but it is time to move on. What i do like though very much is Kimi back in the mix showing the young uns how its done. I would love him to win it next year. Him or Button would be my preference. I doubt either will but id like them to.

Yep kimi is fantastic and really fair, you'd not like to go out drinking with him though

Lads, lads, come on, it's OK...........F1 will still exist without him, we'll be OK..............we share your pain.

I could give it an honest go, promise!

Thanks Coops, but it's really hurting at this moment in time. Ahhhhhhhhhh! But nice to know there are people out there like you who empathise. Hope I can get a few hours pain-free sleep tonight. Thanks again.

True, but only because he'd always try and drink faster than anyone else!

Kimi has the pace and knows the short cuts!

Alonso is far from my favourite driver after his time at Mclaren but if Vettel had passed under yellow flags then it is an illegal overtake and he should be penalised so Alonso would have been champion and to be honest, comparing this years redbull to the Ferrari Alonso did deserve to win the title. I'm pretty sure Horner and the likes would have done exactly the same if the boot was on the other foot.

Been mentioned already but:

No case to answer, Ferrari didnt protest, just 'seeked clarification'. The internet rumour mill seems to suggest that it was Alonso pushing ferrari to protest, not the other way about.

Too right I'd go for a night out with Kimi. Keeping up withing would be a problem

All this debacle by Ferrari who were happy to enjoy 7 titles on the trot, reaffirms to me Alonso didn't deserve to win the championship

I am only surprised that Ferrari International Assistance didn't assist in this case too much :o

Because the holy trifecta of Brawn, Regenmeister and the Don (Todt) are no longer pulling strings within the FiA.

Oh yes, Herr Mosley is no longer at the whip's end

  • 1 month later...

Changes afoot in the F1 circus - Toto Wolff has already gone to Merc and is now apparently luring Paddy Lowe away from McLaren. A deal was previously done when Toto was at Williams.

This puts Ross Brawn's position in jeopardy, along with Nick Fry. Could Brawn go across to Williams or even McLaren? Where does this put Hamilton - who probably moved to Merc because Brawn was there??

Paddy Lowe has not signed a contract and McLaren are stating it is speculation.

Interesting times.
