Afternoon all,

Been out to have a Fiscon kit fitted to the Superb today, the installer rang to say they were having an issue with the head unit once it was all fitted back together - it seems that everything works except the screen on the Bolero. It's just the screen - the head unit is playing music, it's showing information in Maxidot and the touchscreen seems to work too, but there is nothing displayed on the screen (black as in switched off) and no backlight either.

I searched the forum and found one similar problem which suggested pulling fuse 19 in the engine bay (15A) - this does not seem to have rectified the problem. The installer is taking responsibility but I wanted to check if this was a known issue and if there was a ready fix or if it's new headunit time.

VCDS has thrown up a few issues - although this was with the Stream out of my Octavia connected.

I have ticked box 77 for telephone and this does appear in the Maxidot menu. I can connect my iPhone but dad's Nokia C5something won't connect, which is no use because it's his car!

Not sure what reason the CAN gateway is showing as incorrectly coded or is it is still coded for the Bolero?

No, leaving it to the fitter Si - I rang them today and they were 'working on it' but he seemed alright on the phone and not the nervous jelly when breaking the bad news. I was just trying to find out if there was any info I could pass on to try and get it sorted.
