Accident - Insurance write off?

Featured Replies

What happened to yours in the end did they repair it?

Yes, its been repaired the wrapping company are just waiting for the paint to harden for two Weeks until they apply the wrap, should get it back in may. Cant wait!

Im with the don't think it's a write off, doesn't look that bad. But till you get the boot and bonnet open you can never tell. The thing that makes me laugh is when its mentioned about a body repair on a car there is always a member saying best use a vag approved body shop,

It always makes me laugh how people always say use a VAG dealer or body shop, there no better than anywhere else, they aren't employed by VW or SKODA they just pay for a franchise and are often just as useless as dodgy back street dealers.

Had an accident today in my beloved vRS. Coming to a roundabout I went into the car infront and then subsequently got shunted 4 times as cars joined the pile up.

They'll repair that. I had an Octy that ended up looking a bit like that and it was repaired so well you would never have known. In fact it was so good that the dealership in Carlise that I traded it into completely forgot to mention it to its new owners :)

...but they will have approved status so that any problem in the future is covered by the manufacturer warranty.

Well its been picked up and the initial indication from the repair shop is that its a write off but they said they can't confirm until tomorrow.

Looks like i'll be ordering a new vRS. Got mine through DtD last time and having just checked again it looks like the exact spec as mine has gone up by over £1000. Have prices really increased that much?

Any reccomendtions of dealerships to try and get the price down. Not fussed where in the country they are!

Well that didn't happen with the local ford dealer when the body work repair started to rust only 12 after the repair, ford didn't want to know anything about it and told us to take it up with the dealership.

exactly and I know from having 2new wings on my 7year old bora the value of having the warranty.

To the op, did you not take out gap insurance?

Yeah, got GAP insurance but that now won't actually cover the cost of a replacement as prices appear to have gone up quite bit!

Plus by the time I take off the excess on both policies and factor in the fact that I've lost my premium (after only being insured for 3 days after paying the full years premium!), it's all looking a bit smelly.

oh dear! I made sure I got replacement vehicle gap as I got the car so cheap like yourself from drive the deal.

You won't get cheaper than drive the deal I'm afraid! Was yours from malborough? I got mine April 10. Possibly one of my cars siblings :( rk10...

@jrw, indeed it is.

Does anyone know which dealer DtD use now as I believe that Malborough no longer deal with them?
