MK1 RS Exhaust recomendations

Featured Replies

hey. ive currently got an oval blueflame full system with sport cat but my baffles are rattling in the backbox so time to change, it is 6 years old hehe.

ideally id like to buy just the backbox but the blueflame site isnt showing pictures for them so i dont know which im ordering.

what would you recommend and do you think any backbox would fit onto the sport cat

:)

Been looking at exhausts myself and yours sounds exactly what my old one was!! Kind of a square oval up swept tail pipe? If so I would be very interested in buying the old system minus the cat should you get a new one!

Ah cancel that just noticed the oval bit!

ahh yeah sounds more like what mine is, a rounded square that goes upwards. il put a pic on. do you know what model number it is?

just read my receipt and its blueflame cat & downpipe so might not be the blueflame backend

Ebay Decat & Pipe Cat Back.

Heres something a little different, I wanted something louder then the piper so i baught a universal Jap back box (Just to see what it looks like on a Skud) and had a garage weld it on, Sounds prety amazing (Loud) but amazing. Not to everyones taste but hey lol

That is different don't look too bad m8 as you say not to everyone's taste but its your car so your choice.

Looks a bit like one of my local members whose got a Powerflow cat-back on his. Not a fan of big jap style pipes myself but each to their own.

look ok that :) im after something subtle though. ive done the big bhp and hugely loud jap cans on my mr2, that thing was insane with twin massive cans and external wastegate. ohhh i miss it hehe.

Would look better sat in the hole in the back bumper, is that a blank that you have put in its place

Yeah, the garage i took it to just chopped the piper off and used bits of it to weld the back box to and so it doesn't really sit in the bumper cutout. I had to buy a bumper exhaust shield and paint it the same colour to cover the gap. I think i might just buy a non vrs bumper so there is no cutout

don't blueflame do lifetime warranty??

Just a thought...!

i dont know, nothing on the receipt or on the website, that i can see anyways otherwise that would have been ideal cos i do love the sound of it :)

Quick question... is there any vag car that has a better system than ours we can bolt on and secondly does anyone have any decent link for decat and downpipe. I've searched on ebay but none mention girth.

No as the Octy has a longer rear end.

No as the Octy has a longer rear end.

was thinking more the downpipe side of things.

The only ones with a wider downpipe are the K04 turbo'd cars so the turbo fitment end of the downpipe wouldn't be the same

Haha that looks like a weapon from Unreal Tournament or something

miltek turbo back system, and get a resonated/non resonated back box, expensive but best! imho

Would a 3" bore be to much, or will that be ok?

Quick question... is this the right kit if so il buy it now, if not il keep looking. Just want the downpipe mod for the moment.
