Guessing they stiffen up a sloppy nob......

Makes gear changing a lot nicer, done this to mine... Smoother and feels more precise

How did you manage to make it do that? must have damaged a wire somewhere.

 

Did you check the wiring around the gear box? might be wiring to the reverse sensor

Sounds like you have disturbed a wire when you remove shifter bushing bracket .

 

Have a good look around the gearbox area Lloyd mate.

you probably dislodge the speed sensor thing at the back i did the same mine fell  apart,fortunately bit inside the gearbox didnt try unplugging it see its come loose like this

at the back your see a plug that goes into that its speed sensor goes into the box on a pinion thing heard they can come loose and fall inside,mine just came apart on the plug. goes out side unscrew make sure its all in one piece. mine pushed back together good as new could try just push on it first

unplug clip, if its loose will just pull off think think it screws in with a spanner though.

I got cap off but spanners r awol
