You are just clutching at straws. Ignorance will not work.

"No, your honour, I had no idea that the button I pressed unleashed a 100 shot of NOS. "

No one mentioned NOS. We were talking about remap, obvious things like alloys, body kits, Nos etc. you could not claim you did not have any knowledge of.

No straws are being clutched at at all. If you answer to the best of your knowledge you are within the law. Simple as that.

I think what you've typed out here on a public forum for all the world to see would undermine your position.

Back to Karl's original theme of talking to insurance brokers vs online - speaking direct to someone I recon is always best imo.

Whether or not you have a modified vehicle.

My renewal price came through the other day - £70 increase - queried them on about why the increase - the cheeky sod's had added breakdown cover to the renewal quote, but not mentioned it anywhere in the written quote.

As a side theme - really don't have much faith in the quality of many insurance companies quoting websites - some have some very poor design logic behind them.

I myself to the best of my knowledge do not have a remap, I drive a diesel for the economy and the fact it will run on biofuel I was just stating the facts.

You crack on then, but please do not recommend your views of obtaining your insurance fraudulently upon others.

This was exactly the point of the original post :D the comparison sites dont pass the correct information through to the quoting company so therefore the quotes you get are not valid. Far better to talk to someone and be sure. And it was a good few hundred cheaper :D

I was thinking about the processes/stages you have to go through before they even communicate out to the insurers/brokers - really basic stuff like only being able to select from a pre-defined list of models, which is often incomplete, and no ability/capacity to collect the relevant info, etc.

Bit like modern road designers - the folks who are designing stuff have clearly never attempted to use it.

You couple that to the bit you mentioned about data not getting passed through, or even changed - makes you wonder what the monkey's are upto.

I always crack on, its the way I roll.
