Hux do the rear dust covers go back on to the coilovers? They seems to be glued to the old ones? Or leave them off?

Also the Ibiza bump stops do they just sit there loose?

Thanks mate

i think you should be able to pull your old bump stops out of the dust covers and push fit the new ones in.

Hows it all looking dude?

holy S#!T !

car has completely transformed! really does feel like im driving a different car

mechanic had some issues with putting the wishbones back on after putting the poly front bushes on them but got there in the end as the thread wouldn't line up

coilovers fitted, bushes done and wheels tracked, took most of the day lol

pics, not many whilst getting them fitted as was too embarrassed to take them whilst the guys were around lol

set them to rear all the way down and fronts to 6 threads up from the

this setup was fine until i got to our estate with pillow speeds bumps, even with one wheel on method still produced scraping from somewhere

so got home and raised the car a thread, will pop out later to give it a trial run

Love it, just give the wheels a clean! Lol

aye, still dirty from being in the garage lol

will clean the car again this weekend

sorry for the open boot, i was taking the old springs out and couldnt be bothered closing it again

just been out again, fronts on 7 threads up from the bottom, seems alot better, its amazing what one thread can do lol

when i go over the pillow speed bumps, i hear a TSSHHHH coming from coilover that isnt on the speed bump, i take it this the coilovers doing their thing yeh?

Lovley ride hight mate. Looks great on the pic with the plane. Bet your chuffed with it now

thanks Hux

i coudlnt sleep last night due to the fact i left the rear dust covers off and that i made a big mistake

so up at 9am and set off to put them back on and sort the rear bump stops so they stayed in the rear mount

3 hours later

job done and much happier now

turns out i had to take the black plastic circle thing off the ibiza bump stops and it slotted in nicely into the mount!

C spanner now in the boot and need to get a allen key aswell in case i need to raise the car in an emergency.

nice job, i keep my allen key and c spanner in the pocket behind the drivers seat.

joe i hadnt thought about that. ill get on that later on. :)

yupp its a good little place as it doesn't slide around and make unwanted noise.

  • 2 weeks later...

Looks great - Just compiling a list to have a go at mine. Can i ask why you got the Rear Top mounts? I can understand the fronts as you can pre-assemble the springs etc.

Thanks,

Mike

thanks mate

i just thought id get them changed as the rears were off anyway, save same doing them at a later date

give me a shout if you need any more info mate

Remember, dont go changing the ride height loads or you will need to get the car aligned every time. Im sure the slight adjustment you've made wont affect it too much though ;)

So looking at your pics - Do you have the backs all the way down (with all the bits left in) and the front 7 threads from the bottom?

Oh, and also - You dont NEED to change the drop links on the Weitects/AP's do you? You just did for peace of mind, and not for shorter ones?

Cheers.
