Remember, dont go changing the ride height loads or you will need to get the car aligned every time. Im sure the slight adjustment you've made wont affect it too much though ;)

yeh, the garage told me this at the time, i thin kit seems ok at the moment

rear all the way down and fronts 8 threads up

do you have both fronts the same normally? or driver side one thread up? due to extra weight of the driver when i get into the car?

nice job, i keep my allen key and c spanner in the pocket behind the drivers seat.

  • many people asking me for exact part numbers that i used, sorry for not doing this earlier here goes 2x Front top mounts: http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1452 2x Front mount

Only way to properly set p/s d/s is to sit in the car and either corner weight it or pikey measuring tape and trial and error as its one thing having a car that level both sides without you in but as soon as your sitting in the car its slightly off.

hope this makes sense

So looking at your pics - Do you have the backs all the way down (with all the bits left in) and the front 7 threads from the bottom?

Oh, and also - You dont NEED to change the drop links on the Weitects/AP's do you? You just did for peace of mind, and not for shorter ones?

Cheers.

just to answer this for you mate, you dont need shorter drop links with weitecs/ap/kw, i changed to standard size ones for peace of mind

backs all the way down with the adjusters in -( i think you call it that) and front 8 threads up from the bottom (at the moment)

Top stuff, thanks mate.

Threads wise, my left/right side differs by a few threads to make the car sit level. I measured from the bottom of the rim to the top of the wheel arch at each corner. On level ground of course! and prefereably with driver in.

Usually done from the centre of the wheel but I guess the bottom is just as good :)

Yeah I just chose there because the tyre/wheel groove was a good place to stick the end of the tape measure :)

never thought of that! :)

Is this with someone sitting in driver seat?

No, I had no friends that day lol but I allowed 5 mm ish on the drivers side for that. Even without that, the drivers side front had to be set higher in threads than the pass side. For the rear, the pass side was set a little lower in threads to the drivers side!

It will be a little different for each car/shock/spring combination though of course.
