Always wondered whether the Seat Exeo was any good (Seat version of the Mk2 Superb), might be cheaper than the Superb and is similar sized.

I really like those and they do an estate version to

It's not - the Exeo is a previous-gen Audi A4, not the Mk2 Superb.

Just a reply to my previous post it was from an independant garage

good luck with the search

Yup and smaller inside than an octy lol

I,m with babs too.I wouldn,t take much less than £4500 for your car.Its one of the last MK1 vRS,s in A1 condition,1 owner and very low mileage with all paperwork.

TBH i wouldn,t part with it.Period.

If I could mothball the car, I would. Owning a car from day one means that my plans were to keep it as long as possible - as long as petrol was available - but it's not to be. My dad laughed at me yesterday as he predicted this would happen and was waiting for me to concede defeat in terms of three in the back.

On another note, the rear seats are totally untouched and have only been sat on twice! They are wrapped in plastic in my top bedroom and have been there for the best part of five and a half years. The fronts have never been sat on without a cover on either. On the day I collected the car I took some covers with me and they have been on ever since.

Have you checked for bolster wear under the covers though? :)

Sorry to see your thinking of selling Andrew. If it had the economy of my oil burner I would be tempted. :)

They are perfect tbh. My nickname is for a reason and I weigh about 3 stones when wet! You'd be forgiven for thinking that they haven't been used. Shame the wife is 22 stones and has squashed the other side flat though....

Err lets just hope someone's wife doesn't read this post or its not the only thing that's gonna be flat lol

By the way Raf, I bumped into Martin at B&Q today, he says the hunt is on for a vRS bumper again.

Just to clear things up, the Mrs is only 21 stones, I was being cruel.

Hope he gets round to fitting it this time before selling lol

Would look good on his car

He could buy my car for the bumper.

He could buy my car for the bumper.

Don't think he would be happy going from 55+mpg to the 30s lol

You could LPG it and then everyone's a winner!

An alternative - Car magazine ran an M3 long term and Ben Barry I think it was, found a company that had a kit that allowed 3 child seats across.

Sadly can't remember the name or how it worked but it wasn't prohibitively expensive.

Go search their web?

It's called a Multimac. It's the best part of £2000 all in after fitting. I have considered it, but it needs to be installed instead of the back seats. This means you can't use the rear as normal for say giving lifts to mates, or fold the seats down when moving something big from B&Q or to the tip. It's a good idea, but not ideal.

I may have to put a thread in the For Sale section over the coming week as when our youngest doesn't fit into his current rear facing seat, we are stuffed because the forward facing is too wide. He's not far off now, so we're going to have to change sooner rather than later.

I reckon £3800 is about right. To me it's my pride and joy, but to everyone else it's just another Skoda. There are cheaper out there, but maybe they are quite a bit older and have passed though quite a few hands. If I can get my act together, I'll post up in the near future.

I know its the wrong country, but on the basis of UK prices being lower than over here, something similar to this might be worth a poke round.

150Bhp, and id reckon you could get 3 child seats in and throw the 2 "boot seats" in a skip.. I know i personally wouldnt feel happy with my kid in the boot in a rear end shunt.. Ive seen the videos of a Scania or MAN truck running into the back of a Zafira...

Or you could go Gypo, and get a crew cab transit... weld in some anchor points in the back for the ISO fixings ;-)

I've had a look at those as well as the Ford and Seat offerings. They are a bit too big for our needs as daft as it sounds. I'm probably going to get one of these,

honda-fr-v-02.jpg

It's not the most dynamic of cars, but they get good reviews and will be just the right size for what we need. My mate calls people carriers and MPVs 'Spaz Wagons'. Thing is, three children requires more room than my beloved vRS can offer, so Spaz Wagon it is.....

My mate's dad has just bought an FR-V.. absolute cracker.

Loads of clever/quirky little touches typical of a honda and that 2.2 CDTi lump well that is simply awesome.

I imagine that you could map them into somewhat of a monster.. In a straight line anyway! Dread to think about hard cornering lol

P.S. Unless you are seriously pressed for time I wouldn't settle for less than £4,000 for yours.

I can't believe no-one has suggested selling one of the children

It's good to hear that. They remap to about 170-190bhp. I'm planning on leaving it stock to be honest as it'll not stop or go round corners. Plus it will be nice to have cheaper insurance for a bit. They don't come cheap though and seem to retain thier value very well. Even some 2005/2005 models are still £8500! The best I've been offered is £3800 for mine. Having just been to Sainsburys for the weekly shop, I spotted a really nice, well looked after car when we came out. It took me a split second to realise that it was mine. I then got all upset just at the thought of selling it.

According to the wife, that's not an option. :S
