Mk1 Octavia vrs devil 666

Featured Replies

Well this is the start of my Mk1 Octavia vRS in red. When i got it i had it dyno'd at austec racing in cralwey, west sussex and it produced 197.9bhp at the wheels which is a result. it had a stage 1 map at a company in dorset a few years ago and its also had a full rs exhaust system with a sports cat. i do have the name of the actual exhaust but i cant remember what it was and i dont have the name handy with me lol. i also have a front mount intercooler with hard pipes and a forge 007p re-circulating dump valve.

the bodywork is a bit different as it has an mg zs spoiler smoothed in on the boot and its had the black trim removed on the sides and the front and rear bumper trim has been color coded. then as for the wheels its got 18inch cupra alloys on it with lowering springs so the car sits beautifully. the fmic was looking nasty and black but it still worked great so i simply ended up spraying it quickly with silver paint. simple job but makes a massive difference. i also ended up getting a new grill as the old one was broken.

anyway heres some pics to start off.

I like the overall look of the car but I'm not keen on the grille :)

Yeh I will be going black at some point. I agree the chrome doesn't work well with what's been done.

It looks like the front end has been smashed and repaired with a grille from a black octavia,

Other than that its nice

I've seen that look somewhere before, can't think where!

Lol nah tbh the only reason it's that color is because it came

Like that. I would like to carbon wrap it to give it depth instead of the chrome look. But I love the stance of it. Reminds me of a touring car and I love it. I've got more pics and more to write up because I've done a fair bit to it so tonight I'll update the journal. Also I'm going through replacing my gearbox at the moment so theres even more to come. But that's for the compliments guys :)

Hey..... I know that number plate

Thats one of my brothers old cars :)

Ok were we are ive got more to add so lets get on with it. last time i was introducing the car and its bits and bobs. so after some hard driving i needed the brakes done. i wanted the disks and pads done so after £180 and 3 days later i received my drilled, grooved and ventilated disks and pads from MINTEX. unfortunately i didnt get any pics of me fitting them but luckily i had my mate lend a hand which was very lucky as the rear drivers side piston seized and i had bolts on the front passenger side caliper that wudnt undo so after 5 hours it was finally all done. it didnt help tho with it being dark as we didnt start doing it till late and we had to make 2 trips to halfords aswell for tools which was a pain!

Would advise against drilled in future they will crack !!!

so ive been rather busy lately and ive been doing so much. but to start off with ive had the wish arms replaced because the rubbers went on them as you can see in my gallery on my profile. i had trouble getting the bolts off which bolt onto the suspension so an ankle grinder and 20 mins later done the trick! after i replaced them i thought my troubles were over.

untill 2 days later..........BANG! the gearbox died!

As you could probably tell by my recent forum posts ive been after a new gearbox but after a few weeks of bargain hunting i found one on ebay with 64k on the clock! so that shud arrive tomorrow!

so i took the gearbox out and opened it up and found the rivets from the diff sheared off. what a load of ****!! but anyway with the gearbox out i thought it would be a perfect opportunity to do other bits. so i went on to www.pimpmyskoda.co.uk and used the step by step guides to take out the secondary air injection system, the n249 and n112 system, the suction spray system and fiddled about with the evap system. i also took a pipe put from the vac system. all in all ive saved alot of weight and hopefully i have stopped the loss in boost between 2500-3000rpm.

Now theres plenty more room in the engine bay to play with and to breathe but i had to get a forge blanking plate to cover the hole from removing the SAI so thats now on the engine but i dont have a picture yet.

with that all gone i decided to clean up the engine bay with a steam cleaner from halfords and a can of de-greasant. got alot cleaned which has made a difference but theres still so much i can do. cleaning everything i can really. and i also done the rocker cover. well atleast its cleaner than it was anyway!

because ive removed the oil breather pipes, ive ordered new oil hoses which will be fitted tomorrow and expect some more pictures!!

ive also got a few more bits ready for when everything goes back together. new oil (10w 40), engine flush, a new oil filter and more vacuum pipe. oh and new gasket sealant for the cleaner rocker cover lol.

Ill have more pictures to update soon but in the mean time check out my pics in my gallery. also forgive me because their all in a bit of a random order but heres the link for it!
