Police Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Not yet,but according to Driven (the magazine) 85% of our police forces have Skodas (obviously most seem to be Octavias)

Just seems to be an ideal car for Police around towns.Nippy, solid economical (and if there is a photoshop comp again be interesting to see what peoples interpretation of a cop fabia would be ;) )

Round here there are loads of pants peugot 307's as slated by owners in JD power survey and officially Britains most unreliable car.

I can understand if they had persisted with British cars but who made the decision (if they had to be foreign) to choose the worst one on the market  Bet the resale is even more rubbish.I tend to overtake these town peugots on foot as it is.

Come on Police Authorities.Try some.Practical yet exciting :cop: You might even catch someone

Just so long as they don't keep rolling them ;)

Police Community Support Officers in Hertfordshire often use Fabias - mine you they seem to be classic or comfort/ambiente models.

Don't think they'll bother with the Fab RS since most police forces tend to just go for small cars with cheap boggo spec and no real performance for their town centre patrol cars etc. Pursuit and Motorway cars obviously have to be faster but also have to be bigger to carry all the associated rubbish around with them. Fabia RS doesn't really fit into either category.

The police currentely have one fabia vrs and two octavia vrs's where i live

There was a thread here a little while ago - One was spotted on the Isle of Wight.

I heard a rumour a while ago that some forces were considering replacing V70 T5's with TWO Fabia vRS's, so there was a greater presence. Not quite sure how it works with just one copper per car, thought there were meant to be two per car :s

Cleveland have marked and un-marked Octavia VRSs'. Spotted an Octavia 4x4 petrol estate the other day in Sunderland too.

As someone else has mentioned I don't think the Fabia would be big enough for motorway work.

Single crewing is very common now in all but the worst areas at night

Northants police at the momnet have two marked Octi vRS's, think that they are on trial here (no pun intended  ), and have been told there is an unmarked one lucking around......... :(

Police in Stirling have been using standard Fabia estates around the city centre for a while now.

That is also the problem with Ockty. Boot is fine but rear space is dire - a safety issue when carrying prisoners. I think they would have sold loads more to the police otherwise as they are well thought of.

New VRS will address this issue though!

There was a thread not so long ago with pics of a Community Police marked Fabia. I would agree that it would be more likely to have say the standard TDi Fabia for normal patrol duties, rather than go for the vRS.

Northumbria Police have just bought 4 black Octy vRSs
