  • I haven't got a Mk1 Octy, but if I did have, and needed to change the fuel filter, one thing I would be careful with, is the clips.

  • I'd watch the clips on the filter. They can be tricky !!

I might look at a fuel filter change shortly..

Even though im a diesel burner, I'm I too will need to be very careful with the clips..

You forgot to mention that you have to be careful with the clips and not to break them lol

.............and what might these clips be Raf?

This is like the red Seat Sport strut brace thread a few years back,

I'm not sure what that braces colour was or what it said on it !!

And on an unrelated matter, if you'd like to sponsor me, I shall be walking 150yds this weekend to promote a new charity, the Skoda Clip Awareness Foundation. It's a small and relatively new charity but does excellent work in the community!

Does this promote the awareness of the fuel line clips that are really delicate and can break? lol

apparently they wont break...if you are careful that is.

apparently they wont break...if you are careful that is.

So if you're really careful they won't break, but if you're not they can?

well working on my car, i try to take care, if find if you do take care, then it all goes to plan, however when not taking care, or going carefully then you end up with broken clips, an wishing that you had taken care, or been more careful. Being carefree is never easy..or without perils!

I'm sorry but it's pretty irresponsible of us as a community not to have mentioned how careful you need to be with the clips, when doing this job.

It may have got hinted at, but should be much clearer in saying that when doing this job, be careful with the clips.

Clips? That's the first mention of any clips, and you say we have to be careful with them?

Any news on these clips?

Yeah ... you need to be real careful, so's not to break them ...I think

i heard the clips can break, extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeme care (i will state for the record CARE) is required.

if no care is applied...then they carefully need to be removed (as they are broken) and then the new clips need care taken, and to be carefully fitted with new lines.

I wonder will Skoda take the concerns expressed over clips on board, and either start a clips recall order, or maybe issue a technical bulletin on the safe removing of clips?

VOSA need to be informed, these clips break far to easily, could be a recall.

Extreme care should be used when touching these clips.

H&S issue also, Hard Hat and safety specs

You forgot the steel toe capped footwear (incase a clip drops on to your foot) and thick protective gloves (incase they are sharp)

Oh and nearly forgot the elbow and knee protectors (incase you bang them)

And finally if you are doing them while laid on the ground a back protector (incase of sharp stones)

mmmmmmm.......think to be on the safe side in case you cut your self on these clips, if you don't take care, you better have a tetanus jab or ring 999 ask for the Air Ambulance.

Yep, Get the wind sock up on the lamp post outside , and get that rescue helo on site before you start. make sure they keep the blades turning too, dont want to waste time/ risk a failure starting it up if its needed...

Id have an ambulance and surgeon on site too... just in case.. its better to have redundancies in the safety system ;-)

.......and ring NHS Direct, put them in the picture.

Alert Holby City, have a crash team on standby.

Ha! its all true...

but on a serious note, he really needs to be careful with the clips
