Office debate

Featured Replies

Just been having a lively discussion in the office about 5th gear last night.

Been talking about the owner of the Maserati....half of us think he was right to use his car and obviously not treat it as a museum piece.

Personally though i sit in the other camp because I thought he was a numpty! I cant believe he didnt know how to fill it with fuel (so obviously wasnt used to the car) and then proceded to drive it in the snow and crash it into a wall. He just remined me of a spoilt kid showing off his new toy, and i feel sorry for the people who spent hundreds of hours building the car by hand.

Funny how i wrote more about my side of the debate than the other :D

What do you think?

I think he did well, remember he entered into the Le Mans just 17 months after earning a race licence. Shame he lost it but he didn't seem to phased, but woud you be if you could go a buy an F1 car just like that ?

I think that man must be the richest man in the world.

A ferrari Enzo and an F1 ferrari too !

Anyone who can afford to do that must be sitting on at least a

I agree with his philosophy, cars are there to be enjoyed from the driver's seat, not just from observing it standing still, otherwise they wouldn't put engines in em!!! If he's got the money, wants to spend it on a car like that and than drive it thats up to him, I reckon I'd be the same, although I may just have waited until the snow thawed out before I tried it out.

I agree his Le Mans drive was impressive, so hats off to him. I also think you should drive the cars how they are meant to be...

maybe he was playing up to the cameras

I think it was the last straw for me after seeing one of the presenters of Holiday put a ferrari in the wall on a silverstone driving experience last week!

Can I just point out that he DID know how to fill it with fuel. It was the washer bottle he didn't know how to fill.

If he didn't know how to fill the fuel he'd have hardly got out of his drive! :D

I agree with his philosophy too

If you are going to damage a car on TV, then it might as well be something expensive :)

A 400 grand Maserati is a good start .

I can't believe he put 95ron unleaded in it tho!!

Considering how rare the car is that he was driving - did they say only 50 road going versions? Personally, if it was me with all that cash, I'd be looking at only bringing the car out every now and then... and definately not in the snow!!
