Talk to me about the 1.2 and 1.4 Petrol Fabia's. Wifey wants new wheels. EDIT: Bought one

3rd and 4th pic down, note the extra lip on the front bumper and the plastic "diffuser" trim on the rear. The rear spoiler is there though, and if the Sport seats are there, then it's the correct car but missing the bumper kit for some reason.

Not that it makes any difference to drive.

It's odd, as I said all the docs say Sport as does the insurance when you punch the reg plate in, and the interior is identical to yours and another I've seen, but this one doesn't have the bodywork or the exhaust.

Maybe whoever bought it wanted the sport trim inside without the bodykit and just asked for the standard stuff.

Tis an odd one.

As I said, I'm not fussed either way, I was more concerned with getting the 12v 70hp version of the engine rather than the 6v one. With so little mileage the car feels like new inside and looks it on the outside it it does feel nice to drive considering I've been in my 1.8 TSI for the last 3 months.

I just wonder what the owner wanted with the Sport trim inside that wasn't part of the "2" trim.

Better seats.

For 1200 miles a year?

In all honesty, for 1200 miles a year, why did they even buy a car?

It looks like a normal fabia, no front spolier, no rear spolier, no exhaust trim, no rear diffuser, no sport logo by the indicator, and suspension looks as high as a normal non-sport fabia. I've seen sport models with a sun strip also but not sure if that's standard , is it an import perhaps.

Does it have curtain air bags? as they only came as standard on sport and level 3. Looks to have same seats and 3 spoke wheel, plus the bear alloys and tinted rear windows, front fogs and side strips just as sport trim does. just not front and rear spoiler/ diffuser which is confusing may be worth ringing supplying dealer to find out

Could it possibly be a non-UK spec Sport (i.e. Ireland/taxfree sale)?

When the V5C comes through maybe I'll know more.

And yes it does have the air bags.

I know that it has only had one owner and that it's first service in 2009 was in the UK, so it's deffo been here the majority of it's life.

if you are happy with the car that's all that matters, enjoy it it make no difference a bit of plastic missing here and there and good luck.

Looks like the Sports trim to me. By the way, the 1.2 htp engine is a little belter. Have one myself. I had a 1.9 diesel in my previous car and thought that the step down to the 1.2 htp would be too much but not so. OK the 1.2 doesn't have the same grunt as the 1.9 diesel but it does the job nicely thank you very much. Enjoy the car.

Wife did the same, the 1.9 was great on a run but around town struggled to warm up in winter and for my wifes short town runs we decided to go petrol this time. I really didn't want a 1.2HTP because we sometimes use the car for a run to our caravan and thought it would be gutless.

We were talked into trying one and now I love driving ours. If I'm nipping here or there I always pick the keys for the HTP as it's great to drive at lower speeds.

Cheers

Lee
