Fave car you've owned?

I drove a -32 Ford a few months back that had what is commonly known as an electronic gearbox. You didn't have a shifter, nothing. All you had was a touch enabled screen on the dash with power distribution and four buttons, Park, Neutral, Reverse and Drive.

EDIT: What was even more annoying was that the handbrake was in the same place the shifter should be in. Took me a while to figure out why the car wasn't moving. While the owner sat and laughed her ass off, might I add.

Probably my 02 laguna Mk 2 1.8 believe it or not, brilliant car with all the toys, closely followed by joint second skoda favorit (my first car) and my first octavia 98 1.8 slx 20v.

Possibly two.

1st A Renault 11 Turbo with a BBR engine rebuild to 200bhp, at 19 it was a great car.

2nd, possibley missed more was my last Land Rover Discovery TD5 ES Auto, heated leather seats, the works and even a digital Compass display in the rear view mirror.

Only sold it because we moved house and couldn't afford the 23mpg @ about 10,000 miles a year!

Lynz's still misses her Fabia 2.0i Elegance, which with lowered suspension and RARB used to go very well.

Either my Polo or my current 330d. The Polo, while not the most capable car in the world compared to say, a 106 or whatever, and really loud/uncomfy it is great fun and encourages you to drive it fast and awesomely reliable. Gets 40 on a run, 33 on a full tank of hard driving with massive overfueling (lambda) and I'm generally attached to it.

The 330d is comfy, refined, does 50+ mpg (indicated), handles well and goes some for what it is. Sounds good for tdi too, and is much smoother than the 1.9 PD it replaced!

<==== The 928 - keep meaning to sell it but can't.

Or either of my 2 MGB GTs - one written off, the other rusted away (sob).

Company Mondeo 3 V6 Ghia X was a pretty awesome car too...

Ford escort cosworth, god damn it went round the tracks like it was on rail.........but sadly i got too old for scalectrix and had to give it away:(

In real life though it has to be the Vrs as the only other car iv had, had 58 bhp which for a 17year old just aint enough

my MK1 Fabia vRS, did so much more for me than the Leon does.

We are in the same boat it seems! I genuinely might sell the Octy and hunt for a low mileage late non messed with Furby again to have my wicked with once more!

My mk2 escort estate, had a few back in my teens so bought this one for my mid life crisis!

That is just so nice!, & unmolested.

I pass through Bingley a fair bit, be it driving or riding through, I'll have to keep my eyes open for it on weekends & Bank Holidays

NB; My avatar pic was taken at Bingley, well..... up on Baildon Moor to be precise, during the 'Harriers v Cyclists' race that the Bingley Harriers organise every November (starting/finishing by Dowley Gap Aquaduct)

Cheers for the comments, the pic of the escort was taken on Baildon moor when we had that bit of nice weather a bit back.

My 2nd ever car (Feb 1990) was a beige 1100 Mk2 Escort Estate just like that one :) ... actually technically speaking weren't the Mk2 estates actually still Mk 1 Escorts?

Mine used to do 0-60 in .... some instances.

;)

Basically yes not much difference from a mk1, wouldn't pull skin of a rice pudding but it's not built for speed and gets more attention than any Lamborghini or ferrari!
