Jabba Discount...

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Well just thinking that I am growing keener by the day to get some jabba remapping done, and wondered why I would have to wait until next year to get the group discount? I don't want to try and put these guys out of business, but how come they couldn't just offer a 10% discount to briskoda.net members, rather than 10 at a time to get the discount?

Damo

I guess it guarentees them 10 times the business at once...? However, although I'm keen to get my TDI remapped, I have to wait until next year due to warranty issues. I'm still thinking about getting the lowering springs though - I'd have to put my old springs on though if I had any further probs with the Fabia.

Fortunately I have a mod friendly dealer (Alex Lawrie Liverpool) who when I bought it was very keen for me to get it chipped, said he had got all of his done so far, so what can a guy do but follow his dealers instructions.

Damo

Keen to get it chipped? Christ, where are you? Liverpool... Hmmmm quite a drive for me. My dealer is VERY anti-mod. To the point of being totally ludicrous!

I've moaned about them in detail elsewhere, good garage, good service, just really bad on allowing mods. :(

They had a WRC they had had chipped, that they were sorry to let go. Think the dealer owner is currently driving a Superb TDI chipped with tinted windows and black leather seats, wonder how much that will be going for when he fancies a change....mmmmmmmmmm

The way the group discount worked out was that a maximum of 10 people could be remapped at ANY time during the year. Well we got the maximum of 10 in one hit hence, the need to arrange another group discount for next year.

However if there are enough people, I guess 5, who want to be remapped for definate, I can ask again.

I'm going up to Jabba this coming Tuesday to sort out a slight problem/characteristic of my remap so I can ask then.

If you definately want a remap and want it this year PM me and I'll see what I can do.

Remember Skoda is fairly new to Jabba as is Briskoda and I've been waiting till our profile is suitably high enough to ask for a general discount. Jabba are the gunuine article and I don't want to be p*ssing them off. Also Jabba are the only remappers to offer any discounts so any discount given, 10% isn't bad, isn't to be sniffed at.

So, again, if you're DEFINATELY (no may bes, sorry) up for a remap and want it this year, PM me. If I get 5 or more then I'll ask. Need answers by Monday evening please. Those who have already booked in (Skodaw) I can see if I can get you included (as I did Jon).

Can't be fairer than that, can I.

Cheers.

Adrian.

The way it sounds like they made that offer, it was to ensure that they had a minimum of 10 people within 12 months, not a maximum, which would make more sense. As with just about everything in this life the who buy the cheaper it becomes. I doubt they would have a problem with extending this offer to more people within the year period.

IMHO of course...

I wanted a remap so when I called Jabba I asked whether we could get a discount if a number of us wanted a remap.

The minimum number to get the discount was 5. Jabba are very busy and if I'm honest they don't need to give us a discount.

They we're booking 5 weeks in advance so i reckon they have more than enough work/customers.

We only needed 5 people to get the discount but more people became interested. This can develop into a general discount.

At the end of the day I'm willing to coordinate and arrange a group booking and even ask about the general discount. All people have to decided is whether they want it and that 10% is a worth while discount (I doubt that there is anyone who will do a custom remap for

I'm definately up for it, if it's going to be this year. Don't really want to wait until next year...

Looks like mine will have to be put on hold! Have been chasing round insurance companies to get quotes for moded engines. But the companies now seem to have altered the questions they ask you. When we went through Hill House Hammond a couple of years ago, the only thing they wanted to know about your license was if/how many points you had, and how long you had it. Now phoning round other companies they are asking wether you have been convicted/banned in the last five years. I for my sins several years ago managed to accumulate 6 penalty points within 2 years of passing my test (I had never heard of this law at the time (and only 3 points were for speeding)) which automatically gets your license revoked, but not banned. The difference? once revoked you can take your written and practical tests again as soon as you can get dates, i.e. there is no prescribed ban period for which you cannot drive. However this in the eyes of the insurers this is considered a ban, and thus they will not even quote me :(

The five year period they want to know about wont be up for another 13 months so even with my now clean license I won't be able to do any insurance move and thus remap until then.

So now as I don't seem to be able to move insurance companies even if I wanted to, and am left feeling p*ssed off. NO JABBA, I HAVE BEEN DENIED!!!! :( :( :(

Damo

Shame that Dab :(

My mate ran a red light (that he swore was on amber) only one week after passing his test, but he only got three points, and has never had a brush with the law since, so those points are gone.

I'm lucky I've only been stopped once, for leaving the fogs on at midnight when it wasn't foggy. I reckon the bloody fuzz just pulled me over to see if I'd been drink/driving...

Going up to Jabba tomorrow so if you definately want a remap and would be interested in a discount, group or otherwise, PM me.

I have 3 members replies who are definately up for but I really need 5 to be able to have any chance of getting a group discount.

I will ask about a general Briskoa discount.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Can't commit without insurance, am gutted.

Damo

Adrian - sorely tempted. But I cannot risk voiding the insurance on something that is pretty much permanent... I really have to wait :( My springs can at least be swapped in the event of trouble.

Ok here's the deal that I talked over with Mike and Brian at Jabba.

Minimum 5 people group remap for 10%.

5% general discount.

I'm I good to you guys or what.?!;)

I am willing to coordinate this next group remap so, I already have 4 definates (including Skodaw who already booked in). So another one for remap please!!!

Just to confirm those for remaps:

Skodaw

Mr Peck

Withcfinder

A N Other

Remember these guys are busy and are takings 5 weeks in advance.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Re the group discount:

I reckon that Jabba could charge around the

Oh I forgot to give some answers to some questions I was asking for people:

Jason:

sorry Boost switch doesn't work for diesels.

Mike/KLB:

Jabba can remap you car...they've done a couple fo automatics already.

John/JayTee:

haven't done remap for 110bhp diesel yet but will be. I think Mike said this would be done serially. No timescale yet.

Cheers.

Adrian.

That's very good news on discounts, Adrian. Well done! :D

I was surprised to learn that autos share the same ECU as manuals and are not a problem to remap. As has been said elsewhere, Mike at Jabbasport certainly knows his stuff and I was most impressed by the setup there. Pity I can't afford a remap.....yet.

".....can't afford a remap...yet".

Ok, Denis.;)

Oh bugger...just remembered something else.

I got my JabbaSport stickers.:D

Carole will be sending them out shortly.

Now where to I stick mine......no witty replies from the wags out there please.:nono:;)......considering that they have to be stuck on glass/transparent medium/etc?

Hmm...next to the Briskoda sticker.. to the left...to the right...or below and centre?

Dunno but hurry up and do it and post pics - must call Carole and ask her for one too...

Doh...double bugger....I forgot something else.

It was asked that perhaps we could have a forum specifically for Jabba to answer tuning etc questions.

Well this was put to Mike and unfortunately he won't be able to do this. The man is very busy!

In fact this is also the reason why Jabba don't answer technical question via email anymore.

I can only suggest ringing them; they have a cordless phone and Carole will go in search of whoever you want to talk to. Or wait until a Briskodian makes an obligatory visit and ask them to pose your questions(s).

Cheers.

Adrian.

Great work on the discount -- as previously said by many - Jabba are in demand,so anything is a bonus.

You never know - might just be able to go for that intake kit now.....(Starts doing the sums...)

Dave,

saw induction kit fitted to a mark IV Golf. Nice bit of kit. However on the Golf the bonnet has some insulation and this makes a nice seal with the kit. It'lll work on the Octy but probably not as efficient as the Golf.

I'm sure if you ask her nicely..?
