Thanks Darren, trying to sort centre caps at the moment, it's practically impossible to find 68mm BBS caps!!

Sorry, but another picture filled update, nothing special though, just some minor additions!!

I picked up some 8mm H&R spacers a while ago off Rob_e, hadn't had a chance to fit them with the new baby taking up most of my free time lately!

IMAG0927_zpse4102176.jpg

It's not much of a difference as the original offset of the BBS is fairly good, but just sits them nicer under the arch,

Before

After

IMAG0929_zps8378fa1a.jpg

That gives a final ET of 35 on an 18x8'' wheel which is about as good as you can get on an Octavia without adjusting camber,

I also picked up some BBS resin decals a while ago too, the reason is the BBS CH028 are oem Audi wheels and the standard BBS centre caps will not fit, they are approx 68mm diameter on the outside, but only 55mm on the inner ring, so almost impossible to get centre caps that will fit, and BBS don't list any for them,

Anyway, I picked up 2 sets of decals, there hard resin ones so should be up to the job!

Red BBS with silver writing

Luckily when I bought my BBS, I got 2 sets of centre caps, the oem AUdi caps and a set of ABT chrome caps, which looked terrible on the car, but the have a completely flat surface so perfect to fit the decals on,

I sanded the faces down, not sure if it would actually make a difference, but the decal will probably grip better to the non shiny surface, could be wrong here, but it's done now!!

One last pic of how it sits on spacers

IMAG0964_zpsf172d360.jpg

I'm going to try get another set of ABT centre caps and fit the black BBS decals to them, I'm unsure if I like the red BBS caps or not!!

Looking good Mark

Well I bought myself a new set of Felgen's for the vRS last week on eBay.de,

I've been running on the CH's the last few months, so thought I'd try a set of 19's again for the rest of the summer, while I get a chance to get 2 of the CH lips refurbed and also want to get my 18'' vRS Zeniths refurbed too!!

Here they are anyway, haven't got tyre's fitted to them yet, but can't wait to get them fitted....

They are genuine Audi Calera 19 x 8.5 ET48 originally from the A6 afaik,

I haven't seen many of them around tbh, it's nice to find Audi wheel's that haven't got replica's of them everywhere!!

I have a picture of them fitted to a mk6 somewhere. I'll root it out to show how they look in the meantime...

Not much else happening lately with this, just enjoying it really!

I found the picture of the mk6 with them fitted

I can't wait to get them on now

Will look awesome

should look well Mark, reckon you could skip the spacers on those!

  • Author

Thanks lads, think I'll still use my 8mm spacers on the rear Darren, will see how they look once I get tyres sorted

They do look nice. On the lookout for something VAG OEM at the moment myself. I daren't venture onto ebay.de - I've heard stories of people parting with vast amounts of cash shortly afterwards ;)

I like those a lot.

Looking forward to seeing them on :)

  • Author

Thanks, really looking forward to getting them fitted as soon as we get home from holidays! I haven't even seen the wheels in the flesh yet myself....

  • Author
I just got home from holidays last night, I hadn't seen the wheels as they just arrived from Germany on Thursday,

So first thing today, I went up to check them out, hoping they were as good as they looked in the pictures and that they were what they were meant to be, my translation from German eBay wasn't the best, so I was happy to find them exactly as I hoped they would be!!

I haven't got tyre's for them yet, but the urge to test fit them made me throw on one for a look anyway....

Should look the part, really happy how they look, I actually think there nicer than I was expecting tbh!

On another note, this was parked in work on the way out, who's the lucky fella.....

19s really fill the arches nicely on the MK2, I just couldnt put up with the ride comfort on my roads.  New RS4 mmmm, nice car, I could be so tempted by the S4 version next.....

Those wheels look epic!

How the hell has nobody mentioned in 4 pages 'Thai massage' and '60+ Hot Chat'

and 'Sallins brothel' on speed dial???

60+ Hot chat.... LOL I can imagine that...

'Tell me what you are wearing hot stuff....'

'Pardon dearie??'

'I said TELL ME WHAT YOU ARE WEARING!!'

'I have got my hearing aid in...'

'Never mind....' Click...

Nice car though.

I got this on Friday, its a Polar FIS+ advanced, I bought it on one of the other forum's brand new,

Absolutely brilliant bit of kit, allows lots of settings to be altered in the mfd screen, also displays dozens of screens of realtime info e.g. coolant temp, side G meter, ill put up some pictures later of some of the screens,

It also allows the passenger side mirror to dip when reverse is engaged, shows optical display on the sat nav of parking sensors, allows the American DRL to be adjusted,

Theres a chronometer in it also which you can set to measure time between 2 speeds, set up a start speed and finish speed, then it has a timer which displays on the mfd screen

It was a bit of a pig to fit though, it plugs into the can gateway, I read a few guides on fitting which said it was located above the brake pedal, but turns out it is over the relays, easiest way to get to it is to take off the wipers, plastic tray, wiper mechanism and there is a cover which allows easy access to the can gateway, plug it in and away you go!!

Ill put up loads of pics later when I get a chance to do it,

I'm still waiting to get tyres for my 19s, hoping to have them on for a show in cork next weekend.

Here's a few screen shots of some of the options in the Polar unit, really is a great piece of kit,

There are lot's of different settings and configurations available

Sorry, some pictures are blurred from my phone!

Optical parking display available to be activated on columbus screen, it can also display on the maxidot screen, but this is enough for me tbh!

ha nice one, I was looking at that exact one and telling myself if it wasnt gone by payday it would be mine, lol! how does it display Boost btw as thats a factor for me....

  • Author

Lol!

I've been meaning to get one for ages, I had the fiscon plus bluetooth fitted before which displayed some info, but nothing compared to the polar!

Boost can be displayed in either psi or bar on the screen, the pictures above are just a few of what I have selected,

I didn't realise until now that the boost wasn't on the photos, ill get one up for you tomorrow,

The list of possible screens and displays is endless tbh!

Definitely worth the money though imo,

it does look awesome, although I can see me sitting there driving along flicking through maxidot screens like tv channels, lol

I need to get Maxidot retrofitted... I really do because the Polar FIS looks like a great little toy!

Got a chance to throw my new genuine Audi 19'' Calera's on after work.

Sorry about the quality of the picture's, there on my HTC, I think the camera lens is scratched or marked!

I tried some 8mm spacers on the rear but it's poking too much, will try some 5mm, they should sit nicely with that on the back.

Tyre's are Vredstein ultrac sessanta's 235/35/19

I also put up some more pic's of the rear LED tail light's, much easier to photograph in daylight!

Anyway, that's all for now!!

wheels really suit this! :)

  • Author

Thanks man!

Here's a few pictures for Darren to show the different boost displays, looks like dead pixel's in the picture's, but it was just the camera!
